Whether it’s Western or Indian the clothes that we wear plays a great role in in your professional success. It reflects your personality and also influences the people who work with you as they form an opinion based on your attire.
We suggest these things that you should never wear to your workplace followed by a tip.

Deep necks: Avoid wearing too deep necks in the office .Ladies, wearing deep neck tops, blouses and dresses to work that flaunt off excessive cleavage will only cause embarrassment. This could also create unwanted attention and comments from your male colleagues.

Style tip: You can try a boat neck, crew neck, Nehru collar, Chinese collar etc. that look stylish and decent. If you think the neck is slightly deep then trying using a cardigan or scarf and you always have the Chunni to cover up for you if it is a Salwar.

See through clothing :Clothes that are see-through are complete no-no for workplace. It may distract your male co-workers and leave you feeling uncomfortable and under confident. Avoid wearing fabric that makes your lingerie visible through the clothes line.
Style tip: Simple Cotton, Khadi, Nylon fabrics are great to work. If it’s raining nylon and chiffon are the best as they dry faster in case you get wet.

Bright colours: It would be best avoided if you don’t wear bright, neon coloured clothing to work. It could be very distracting to others and you certainly don’t want to be labeled as candy girl…
Style tip: Browns, pale shades, mauves and of course the ever green black and white combinations and anything sober are the best bets for work.

Flip flops Flip flops or Hawaii chappals are too casual for office. Avoid them completely unless it's raining cats and dogs. Worn out foot wear should be discarded and avoid the rexine ones as they tend to smell with sweat.
Style tip: If you want comfortable shoes for workplace, then go for sandals with straps or the closed shoes. These go well with either Indian Salwar or a sari. If its Western wear you can always wear the closed pump heels or block heels.

Sober Designs: Now we don’t want to look like a Christmas tree or you have just entered the party zone. The dress that you wear should reflect the work culture and you seamlessly blend with the others and make sure you don’t stand out like a sore thumb.
Style tip: Straight line cuts, high necks and collared shirts with your buttons up in place is the best thing. Since the men have a limited option it is best when you carry off sober wear.
