Tips for Permed Hair
posted on Sep 6, 2013
Permed hair is known to be porous because of the chemical treatments done to your mane. Your hair tends to absorb and lose moisture very quickly.
1. Never use a narrow-toothed comb for your permed hair. A wide-toothed comb is ideal to detangle. Also, remember to never brush your hair when it is wet.
2. Do not use a hair dryer. Let your hair dry naturally.
3. Shampoo your hair no more than twice a week. Excess use of shampoo can add static and frizz to your curls. Use a shampoo that does not give much lather.
4. Condition your hair to help with dryness of the perm.
5. Always remember to towel dry your hair with a light hand. Do not twist your hair in a towel or rub it with a towel.
6. Twist damp hair around your fingers to set curls.
7. Use a diffuser if you blow-dry your hair. Apart from this, avoid styling products that contain alcohol and silicone. Use gels, mousse, or creams especially designed for curly hair.
