Fabrics wear this monsoon

Practicality is another factor to be kept in mind during the rains. With the impending threat of mud and slush being splattered on your garment, it is better to choose fabrics that can be resist those. Pure cottons, natural fabrics, gabardine, denim and crepe silk are some fabrics that can resist that splash of mud or water. Opting for chiffons and nylons also make a wise choice, as they dry quickly.
Shorter skirts:
Keep those long, flowy skirts aside. If you want to go in for skirts, try short, pencil cuts this season.
Cotton kurtis:
Keep those long salwar-kameez sets aside. Go in for simple cotton kurtis that you can pair with denims or leggins.
Dresses:
Go for free flowing dresses. Kaftans or something as free fitting are good options, rather than wearing body-hugging outfits, provided they're short.
Three-fourths:
Keep away from your full-length trousers and denims. Instead, opt for something that's three-fourths. They are practical as they help you keep away from the muck and mud.
Jackets:
Now is the time to go wacky with different types of jackets and shrugs. Pair your ensembles with colourful jackets.
Handloom saris:
For your desi outings, you could choose to have an artsy twist. Go in for traditional weaves, including khadi.
