Mojaris for your feet
Mojaris or the traditional closed shoes from the Northern parts of India have always been a fashion staple in a young girl’s wardrobe. These shoes are handcrafted ethnic footwear made by artisans mostly using vegetable tanned leather and off late Rexene also. The closed shoes come in either pointed or rounded designs to suit your feet shape.
It is traditionally made from Camel, goat, or buffalo leather and embroidered and embellished with brass nails, cowries’ shells, mirrors, bells and ceramic beads. Even the bonding from the upper to the sole is done by cotton thread that is not only eco-friendly but enmeshes the leather fibers with great strength.
You get plain ones in shades of brown, cream, and black and greys and they are also embroidered with gold, silver zari threads and multi coloured threads and decorated with gems, beads, bells and pearls. The new ones also come with a bit of wooden heel attached to it. These come in a variety of colours and exquisitely designed to match your lehenga/skirts, kurtis or salwars and each design is painstakingly crafted by hand. So pick one for yourself when you go shopping!
