Khadi – the local fabric

Khadi – the local fabric

The Swadeshi fabric promoted by Mahatma Gandhi during the Independence movement , India’s humble khadi has innovated itself to be the favourite of fashion designers and people. Both from India and abroad, and it is now the most preferred choice on the global and Indian fashion ramps.

The Khadi fabric is very comfortable to wear in all seasons and by adding starch the wrinkling can be avoided. Khadi cotton material is suited for all men and women for making handkerchiefs, shirts, salwar suits, saris and trousers.

You get Khadi saris, kurtas, dupattas and shirts which will keep you cool in summer. The khadi stores have a variety of designs to choose from and with the Indian Designers who have started experimenting with the fabric you get wonderful designs and patterned khadi outfits to choose from . The fabric’s ability to dye beautifully and its eco-friendly nature makes it one of the  versatile fabric in the country.

It also enjoys another political distinction: the Indian flag is made only with khadi!
