Rs 4126 crore worth schemes in energy sector

Chennai: Jaya Lalitha , the chief minister of Tamil Nadu announce 4126 crore worth schemes in the energy sector, which includes setting up a sub-station at virudh nagar to transmit the power generated from Ramanthapuram’s power plant.
Ms Jaya Lalitha said that the works at Ramanthapuram are underway and are scheduled to be completed in 2020 and she also said that to transmit the electricity generated from ramanthapuram’s power station to the rest of Tamil Nadu, a sub-station that costs around 2000 crore would be constructed at Virudh Nagar.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister also announced that Rs1750 crore is allocated to replace the existing transformers in Chennai and the surroundings of it with safe ring units.
