TDP leaders from Telangana staged dharna at Gum Park Martyrs Memorial demanding the central government to place separate Telangana bill in the upcoming mansoon session of the Parliament. As prohibitory orders are in force in the entire city, the police arrested the leaders.

The arrested TDP leaders alleged that though they have taken permission to stage protest for half an hour, the police took them in to custody within 10 minutes of starting dharna. TDP senior leader Kadiam Srihari said that the government seems to be trying to curb peaceful protests also undemocratically by implementing the 8th chapter of Sri Krishna Commission report.
