TDP MPs Nimmala Kishtappa, Rammohan Naidu, Thota Narasimham and others have staged a dharna near Gandhi statue in Parliament premises on Thursday. They demanded the central government to implement all the promises made in the AP Reorganization Bill and grant special status to AP state.

JC Diwakar Reddy, who also takes part in their dharna, has made some interesting remarks on their dharna. He said that special status can’t be achieved by staging dharnas outside the parliament. He said that they are staging dharna as if to make Janasena Pawan Kalyan happy and nothing else. Yesterday, TRS MPs also staged dharna in the same place demanding the Modi government to divide the High Court immediately. JC Diwakar Reddy’s comments may seem very peculiar because he speaks plainly and without any hypocrisy.

Just few days back, Union Minister for State Sujana Chowdary said that around 60 per cent of works related to special status were completed and he is expecting the balance works may complete within next 45 days. Hence, the Centre may announce its decision on special status during first week of September this year. Then he also stated that Centre may grant Railway zone to the AP state after the current monsoon sessions of parliament are concluded. So, one has to agree with JC Diwakar Reddy’s views expressed on their dharna program.
