Producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja known for his bold and controversial statements has expressed his displeasure on the poor collections of Memu Saitham programs conducted by film industry recently.

 

He said “Playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam alone was able to raise Rs.1 crore funds with his music concert conducted at Chittoor some time ago. But, even when all the heroes come forward to raise funds for Hudhud cyclone affected people, they could raise just Rs.8 crores only. It is pity that the organizers have to request the top heroes to take part in such charity programs, whereas the heroes should voluntarily take part on their own. I think, film industry could rise much more than this if all the stars take part in this charity program.”

 

He also commented on some film stars and directors meeting KCR soon after he takes charge as CM of the Telangana state. Tammareddy said, “Don’t know why they met and what they expected from him.”

 

Tammareddy’s remarks are really worth thinking over again. No heroine except Samantha has donated any amount for Hudhud relief works. Many big stars have skipped this Memu Saitham program for their own reasons. However, film industry puts good efforts to raise funds, but couldn’t raise funds upto the mark due to some organizing mistakes.
