Capital City Plan will be ready with in Seven Months

 

After signing a MoU with AP government, a 14 members experts committee of Singapore has begun working on the Capital project from the very next day. The committee headed by Khutheng Chai, the Chief Planner of the Singapore city and Executive director of Center for Livable Cities (CLC) holds a meeting with the members of the Capital Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) of the state on Tuesday.

 

The CDAC members have briefed the experts committee about various resources, transport facilities, details of surrounding villages, crops, agricultural lands and water availability etc. The experts committee is planning to conduct an aerial survey of the proposed project area on Wednesday.

 

According to reports, the center of the capital would be somewhere on the west side of the Prakasham barrage. Once, the center point of the capital city is identified, then plans will be developed spreading from the point in a radius of 8 km.

 

The Singapore experts committee has chalked out a six week-meetings with officials of the Industries, Roads and Buildings, Police, Tourism, Irrigation etc. of the state government to discuss relative matters of the project. Later, the committee will develop the concept master plan in the next ten weeks. It will develop plans and proposals for infrastructure, industries and land utilization etc. during this period. The final master plan including the central zone of the proposed capital will be prepared in the last 8 weeks. Expert committee is expected to complete its planning work before end of June 2015.
