Secunderabad Bonalu 2011 (also called Lashkar Bonalu) celebrations, being celebrated at Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple have entered the second day today. Rangam is a ritual performed by a woman, who is profoundly devoted to Goddess Mahankali. Rangam is observed on the second or last day of the Bonalu festival. During Rangam, the devout woman who comes under deep trance (Poonakam or Shivalu) stands on an un-baked earthen pot, spells out loudly future predictions.
This year's Rangam was performed by the devout Swarnalatha. Spelling out Rangam, she (Goddess Mahankali) expressed her displeasure about not building a suitable temple for her, people fighting with each-other and behaving recklessly obsessed by the money. And that was the reason behind the suffering of the people. She warned that if ever she gets angry, there would be utter chaos in the world. However, she comforted later by saying "Mother never destroys her own children" and assured the people with plentiful of rains and prosperity this year. She also said that, she is very much pleased with this year's celebrations.
The devotees and political leaders present at the Rangam were very curious to know whether Telangana state would form or not from the oracle's mouth. But according to sources, Secunderabad MP Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav is said to have held them back from asking the question.
