Rayapudi farmers to knock the court doors?

AP state Assembly has passed the CRDA bill just yesterday itself. However, the farmers of Rayapudi and few other villages of Thullur Mandal, who are not willing to depart from their lands, have approached Prashanth Bhushan, a noted advocate in New Delhi and to fight on behalf of them against the state government in the state High Court or in the Supreme Court, wherever necessary. He agreed to take up their case.

Rayapudi farmers' leader Mallela Harindranath Chowdary told the media that they are also consulting other lawyers in the city to represent their case in the courts. He argues that there is lack of clarity in the land pooling system announced by the state government. However, no one from the state government has taken initiative clear our doubts. So we have decided to go to court to safeguard our interests. He said they also have approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for the same purpose. He said that they will start legal battle against the state government once the CRDA bill is cleared by the state Assembly.

Since, it was cleared by the Assembly yesterday the farmers of Rayapudi village may knock the court doors anytime from now onwards. Obviously, the YSR Congress party may thrust them to go ahead with their plans so as it can take revenge on its darling enemy TDP and its president Chandrababu Naidu. So, the TDP should move very cautiously in the land acquisition process otherwise it will be inviting fresh troubles.
