Sindhu's Silver medal win earns her almost 13 Crs

 

PV Sindhu became the toast of the town when she won the SilverMedal at the Rio Olympics. Her great run at the Olympics saw an unprecedented number of governments showing prize money on the Badminton star. Sindhu has become the darling of the divided states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with both trying to generously bestow her with rewards. While the TRS government in Telangana has given her Rs 5-crore cash award and a residential plot worth a few crores in Hyderabad, the Andhra government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has presented her with a cash award worth Rs 3 crore. He is also likely to allot her a plot in either Vijayawada, or the new capital Amaravati.

 

The Delhi Government also announce a prize money of Rs 2 crore for her. The Hyderabad shuttler also received Rs 50 lakh each from the Badminton Association of India (BAI), the sports ministry and the state governments of Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. The Olympic Association of India also gave Rs. 30 lakh while the All India Football Federation awarded her Rs. 5 lakh. The report also states that Sindhu's current employers, Bharat Petroleum Corporation also awarded her Rs. 75 lakh. Several people have also announced awards in their individual capacity, including Rs 50lakh from NRI businessman Mukkattu Sebastian and Rs 1.01 lakh from Bollywood star Salman Khan. PV Sindhu was also awarded a couple of BMWs, from Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and from the Hyderabad Badminton Association.
