According to highly placed sources, the Reddy leaders in Andhra Pradesh are resentful of PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana's belligerence and utterances. Lately, Botsa has said on several occasions that he wants to become the chief minister and also justified his ambition saying there was nothing wrong in it.
As per sources, some of the Congress leaders from the state belonging to the Reddy community conveyed their resentment to the party leadership and other seniors in Delhi on two counts. One, that the repeated assertion of Botsa about his desire to become chief minister is undermining the authority of the chief minister. Second, that a baseless campaign that all Reddys will go to YSR Congress soon has been unleashed in the state. Even those Reddys who are not happy with chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy also are opposed to Botsa's portraying himself as the chief minister in the making.
It is said, AICC General Secretary and state affairs in-charge Gulam Nabi Azad spoke to Botsa and urged him to tone down his utterances and also keep his body language under control. Even Botsa's supporter and former chief minister N Janardhan Reddy is said to have advised the PCC president to display restraint on the issue of becoming CM.
