Odisha CM asks Modi stop Polavaram Project

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, has appealed him to hold back Polavaram Project as his government has some objections on the project. He is reported to be told him that his government has long ago filed a case against the project in Supreme Court because many villages in Odisha state also will submerge under this project if it becomes reality.

Earlier Chhattisgarh government also has raised objections on this project for the same reasons, but it may revoke its decision as BJP to which it belongs is in power at Centre now. People have seen TRS has conducted one day Telangana bandh protesting the merger of seven mandlas of Khammam with Andhra Pradesh. So, Modi government has to take a look before going ahead on this project. However, Modi government may not step back on its decision.
