West Bengal government has declassified 64 files containing 12,744 pages related to veteran freedom fighter and founder of Ajad Hind Fouz-Netajee Subhas Chandrababu Naidu Bose on Friday. All the files were made available in a set of 7 DVDs. The original files are preserved at Calcutta Police Museum. All these files are accessible for common public from Monday onwards.
Speaking on this occasion, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee said “I have gone through those files and understood that he was alive after his disappearance in 1945. I am shocked to know that his family was under surveillance for many years in the independent India. It was really very unfortunate. A great leader like Netajee doesn’t receive his due honors instead his family was snooped by the government. I appeal the central government to declassify remaining files that were in its possession so as people of the country could know the facts about the noble man.”
