Even when an actor and junior politician like Shivaji is speaking and fighting for special status, it would be surprise to hear Hindupur TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna is plainly saying that he has no idea about what are the advantages or disadvantages of not getting it. However, he expressed confidence that the Modi government will grant special status to the AP state. He appeals the Centre to grant funds and subsidies to the state instead of merely announcing them.

 

People, who closely knows him may not surprise for his plain talk about his ignorance on special status as he is used to speak plainly without any hypocrisy. His fans and party cadres may ignore his ignorance on special status, but not the opposition parties especially the YSR Congress party that always waits to catch such an opportunity. Soon it may react asking the state government, how the people can expect it to fight for special status when its MLAs are unaware of the advantages of special status.

 

Balakrishna has made this statement after coming out from a meeting with State health minister Kamineni Srinivas today. He asks the minister to allot 30 acres of land in the capital region to set up Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital. Balakrishna assured him that if the government allots land, he will try to complete construction of the hospital within two years.
