Medical Counseling in AP from August 5th

Medical, Health and Family Welfare Minister Kamineni Srinivasa rao told the media that Indian Medical Council (IMC) has allots 800 MBBS seats to AP state for the current year. He said that out of 800 seats given to AP, 500 seats will be allotted to government medical colleges and rest of the seats will be allotted to private medical colleges in the state.
Government Medical College at Nellore and Padmavathi Medical College in Chittoor gets additional 150 seats each this year. This year also Ongole Medical College gets additional 100 seats and SWIMS in Tirupati gets 50 seats. However, Siddartha Medical College (Vijayawada) and Medical Colleges in Visakha and Guntur didn’t get additional seats this year due to lack of proper infrastructure and facilities, but IMC granted additional seats to Tirupati, Ongole and Kakinada additional seats after the state government has assured to upgrade the facilities in these colleges. According to available information, private colleges in Nellore, Srikakulam are granted 200 and 100 MBBS seats simultaneously. Minister Srinivas said that medical counseling will begins from August 5th.
