The Naxals on Wednesday have agreed to release abducted BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka on Thursday at 10 am in Koraput, Orissa. The decision of his release was taken in the 'peoples' court'. BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka kidnapped on March 24 has been released on grounds of assurance that he would resign if the demands made by naxals are not met.
Earlier, there was some indication with the state government that the people's court would be held in Narayanpatna area on Wednesday, sources said.
Narayanpatna area remained cut off from the rest of the state since Friday because of road blockades put up by the Maoists and a 'Maoist week' called from Wednesday.
