Well! The initiative by the Indian defense minister Manohar Parrikar seems to have yielded some positive results. China has agreed to establish a hotline between the military headquarters of the two countries. This is thought to be an important move, as there were been tensions in the recent past on the both sides of the borders. The defense minister has also revealed that he has raised the issue of increasing Chinese activity in POK.
But he was assured that such activities were only of the economical mode and has nothing to do with the military. Manohar Parrikar has also expressed the discontent of India over Chinese support to the Pakistani terrorist Maulana Masood Azar on the stage of UN. At the end, the tour of Indian Defence minister seems to be a pleasant one at least for the formality sake. The Chinese diplomats such as their defence minister Chang Wanquan too have expressed their satisfaction about the talks between the two nations. He felt that India and China were moving forward in their bilateral ties!
