According to Researchers, there are about 300 strains of bacteria, some of which maintain environment within our mouth. If their populations increase beyond a limit then it not only results in teeth and gum problems but also problems to rest of the body. With the advancement in Medicine, we have been able to relate health of both our Mouth and Rest of the Body. This is called the Oral Systemic Connection.
The present Statistics point out that most of us have Gum problems.
• Gum problems increase the risk of Cardiovascular Diseases like Stroke, High blood pressure
• When suffering from both Diabetes and bleeding Gums(Vit C Deficiency) the risk of Premature Deaths is increased by 400-700% • The risk of Alzheimer’s Disease is boosted due to Gum diseases and Tooth Loss
• Harvard Studies state that Gum diseases raise the risk of Pancreatic and Kidney Cancer by 62%
• Gum diseases increases the risk of Head and Neck Cancers
• Shockingly, Cavities are caused by a germ that spreads during sharing food and kissing
A noticeable unpleasant odor felt during exhalation is called as Halitosis more commonly called Bad Breathe.
About 90% of which is due to increased bacterial growth within the mouth. The remaining 10% accounts for disorders within nasal cavity, tonsils, sinuses, throat, lungs, esophagus, stomach or elsewhere.
The Management includes: Tongue-cleaning, Chewing sugarless Gums, Gargling with mouthwashes before going to bed, Maintaining proper Oral Hygiene including daily tongue cleaning, brushing and flossing. Eating Healthy with more rough food can also clean the back of tongue
As mouth is the easiest course for any bacteria, make sure it is properly guarded!!
