When Robin Chaurasiya started an organisation called Kranti, to teach the people at the red light areas of Mumbai... little did he know that his efforts are going to pay him. Robin has started educating the children as well as the sex workers through his organisation. The hard work of Robin in such a sensitive area has won him lot of accolades across the world. Now with Robin being nominated for the Global Teacher Prize, his name has been in the news again. The global teacher prize is often considered to be the Oscar in the field of education. It was started by none other than Sunny Varkey a Kerala born entrepreneur settled in Dubai. Varkey is the founder of an educational chain across the world named as GEMS foundation. Being a teacher, Varkey has felt the necessity of recognising the best teachers in the world and give them a deserved treat. So he has established Varkey foundation which is giving away the Global Teacher Prize from 2015. This year it has picked up 10 finalists out of 8000 entries and Robin found his place in the final list. Hope that he would win it! The prize will be announced at a ceremony in Dubai on March 13.
