Koneru Prasad Gets Interim Bail to Visit Sabarimala

The Special Court for CBI cases on Wednesday granted interim bail to Trimex Group chairman Koneru Prasad, arrested by CBI for alleged irregularities in the APIIC-Emaar Properties land deal, to enable him to visit Sabarimala as part of his 'Ayyappa deeksha'. Prasad, who is also the promoter of Stylish Homes Real Estate Pvt Ltd was earlier remanded in CBI custody (police custody) on two occasions after his arrest by the central agency on November 3 and was yesterday sent to judicial custody and lodged in Chanchalguda Jail here till November 18.

 


Prasad's counsel had moved a petition for interim bail for his client to enable him to complete his 'Ayyappa deeksha' at Sabarimala on November 17. While giving interim bail to Prasad on humanitarian grounds, the court today asked him to surrender himself before it on November 22 and deposit his passport and furnish personal bond of Rs 50,000. Prasad will be escorted by three policemen of Chanchalguda Jail during his visit to Sabarimala and was directed not to influence witnesses and tamper with evidence.

Stylish Homes Real Estate Pvt Ltd, one of the marketing agents for Emaar is accused of selling villas and plots at high rates though officially it was shown to have been done at much reduced rates. Koneru Prasad, is a key person in the Emaar case and instrumental in the APIIC-Emaar land deal and allegedly had a role on dilution of APIIC's equity and roping in its group company Emaar MGF Land Pvt Ltd as a co-developer for the township (built in Gachibowli here) which in turn resulted in reduction of stake and loss to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), the CBI had earlier alleged.

Key Suspect In Kanpur Rail Accident Arrested

Pakistan's snooping agency Inter-Services Intelligence's (ISI) Dubai-based agent Shamshul Huda was arrested yesterday in Nepal along with three others in a train derailment in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday confirmed Huda's arrest. Huda is wanted in the railway accident that took place in Kanpur last year killing 150 people. Nepal Police are said to work in close coordination with the Indian Police for Huda's alleged involvement in criminal activities in India. The police have brought Huda and three other accused criminals to Nepal from Dubai in coordination with the Interpol. Huda has links with international criminal groups and he has been involved in a number of criminal activities in Nepal and India. A case has already been registered against him in Bara District Court.

IT Raids On Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary

Income Tax sleuths have been conducting incessant raids on big fishes post Narendra Modi announced demonetization. Shekar Reddy, an industrialist, AIADMK functionary and former TTD Board member, was caught with bulk amount and kilos of gold in his residence in Chennai few days ago. The officials are now raiding houses and offices of close associates of Shekar Reddy. The IT department today raided the Chennai residence of Tamil Nadu chief secretary Rama Mohana Rao, who is alleged to have close links with Shekar Reddy. Simultaneous raids were conducted since 5:30 this morning at the bureaucrat's residence and seven other locations, including at the homes of his relatives. Rama Mohana Rao is a 1985 batch officer from Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He became chief secretary in June 2016. He was earlier additional chief secretary and was in the CMO.

Modi Is Not Our PM: Owaisi

MIM is a recognized state political party based in the Indian state of Telangana, with its head office in the old city of Hyderabad, which has its roots in the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen founded in 1927. Unlike most of the regional and national level parties, MIM party leaders ‘fight’ only for the well-being of Muslims, whereas no other party has such communal feelings. In their each and every speech, MIM leaders speak only about Muslims. If these leaders are here to fight for Muslims, then why there are no development works are happening in old city area for decades. Akbaruddin Owaisi faced criticism for making hate remarks on Narendra Modi and Hindus. Recently, his elder brother Asaduddin Owaisi made some notorious annotations. In a one-on-one debate between BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and Asaduddin Owaisi on the topic of demonetization in a popular Hindi channel, the former left no stone unturned in exposing the latter’s communal designs. Owaisi claimed how most of the Muslim community still remains unbanked and that demonetization has caused severe inconvenience to Muslims. He even went on to say that ATM’s in Muslim-dominated areas weren’t fed enough money. He indirectly alleged that the Modi government hadn’t done anything for Muslims. Even after being pressurized Owaisi didn’t call Narendra Modi as his Prime Minister. He went on said, “Your Prime Minister…” On the other hand, Sambit spoke wisely and called Owaisi a leader of small stature because he talked only of Muslims. He said that no area was Muslim or Hindu and that all areas belonged to India. Owaisi was constantly quoting an RBI report, to which Sambit challenged him to show where the RBI had used the word ‘Muslim’. Sambit even said that if a Muslim leader speaks of Muslims it’s not an issue, but the moment a VHP leader speaks of Hindus people go crazy accusing them of imposing the Hindutva ideology. The most amazing of his counters was to Owaisi’s claims of Muslims not having been brought into the banking system. Sambit said that when banks or ATMs are to be opened in Muslim areas leaders like Owaisi shout that banking is un-Islamic and that Muslims should refrain from it! This video of debate between Sambit Patra and Asaduddin Owaisi is going viral in social media.

Union Home Minister Rajanath singh slammed congress today by saying Terrorism doesn’t have cast creed or religion and he also claimed that UPA has weekend India’s effort in fighting terrorism by coining Hindu Terror and he also said that Parliament shouldn’t be divided by terrorism  . Terrorism cuts across the religions and to classify it as Hindu, Christian, Sikh or Muslim is just a political speak and discrimination between communities is always dangerous for peaceful and prosperous county like India      

Operation Delhi

                                                     AAP leader asks Lt. Governor  Najeeb Gung to dissolve Delhi assembly and delaying the process will encourage MLA trading  . Shortly after the meeting, the AAP chief tweeted that the Lt. Governor  will now call BJP for discussion. He added that Lt. Governor  will ask the BJP to show the required strength if they claim to form the government. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that no party is ready to support the other for govenment formation. He also  added that Lt. Governor had assured them that he will hold a discussion with all parties including BJP and will then send a detailed report to the president.  

Samarasimha Reddy to Join TDP

  Former minister D.K. Samarasimha Reddy met Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday at Gadwal, sparking off rumours that he might be joining the TDP and contest as its candidate in the next Assembly elections.Mr Samarasimha Reddy’s attempts to re enter the Congress have been facing strong opposition from his close relative and information minister D.K. Aruna from quite some time.Another relative of Mr Samarasimha Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, has already joined the YSR Congress while former TDP legislator Gattu Bhimudu has joined the TRS.   With these political developments, a suffocated Mr Samarasimha Reddy has apparently decided to join the TDP. Interestingly, the TDP is also looking out for a formidable candidate for the Gadwal seat. When Mr Chandrababu Naidu visited Gadwal town and was injured due to the dais collapse incident, Mr Samarasimha Reddy took the opportunity and met him to enquire about his health. He reportedly spent half-an-hour with the TDP chief, discussing politics. When contacted, he told this correspondent that he had only met Mr Naidu to enquire about his health. “When a former chief minister visited my constituency and suffering due to back pain on account of the dais collapse incident, I thought it was my duty to call on him and enquire,” he said.  

Pallam Raju Got HRD Job Kept for Rahul Gandhi

  New HRD minister M Pallam Raju received the biggest promotion in Sunday's ministerial reshuffle and the decision may have gone down to the wire before the mantle fell on the Kakinada MP. The choice before the Congress leadership was tough as HRD is a key ministry tasked with delivering big-ticket initiatives like right to education, reform of the school exam system and several scholarship schemes.   Given its political profile and an association with students and youth, the HRD ministry was subject to speculation that it could be the right office for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to cut his teeth in government before the leader indicated he is not keen on joining it. Sources said Rahul's decision was taken after considerable deliberation and the argument that he gain experience in government had its obvious allure. However, the Congress leader is understood to have sealed the debate by taking the view that he would not be able to concentrate on party work if he became a minister. This did not end the dilemma with the portfolio being kept "open" just in case of a rethink. But since there was no change in plans, the search for a new minister became earnest as it was felt senior leader Kapil Sibal should shed HRD and concentrate fully on telecom. The need to infuse fresh thinking in the ministry has been agitating the Congress leadership for a while and Karnataka leader Veerappa Moily was seen as a likely choice.  

Foreign Cash Floods NGOs

    Trusts and charities in Andhra Pradesh are the third biggest recipient of foreign funding in the country. In just one year, these organisations received Rs 1,324.87 crore from abroad in 2009-10, and the flow has increased since. Within AP, NGOs based in Anantapur district, Hyderabad and Secunder-abad and Krishna and Guntur districts received the highest funding. Anant-apur district alone received `414 crore from organisations abroad, followed by the twin cities at Rs 334 crore. Most of the organisations are religion-based.   Foreign funding to the Sri Satya Sai Central Trust - which was among the top three recipients - has come down after the death of Sai Baba. The data was collected by the Union ministry of home affairs wing that monitors foreign funding under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act. In 2011-12, AMG India International, a Christian social service organisation of Chilkaluripet, Guntur, received `48.13 crore, while the Hyderabad Eye Institute at Road No. 3, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, received `33 crore. The Catholic Health Association of India at Gunrock and the Centre for World Solidarity at Tarn-aka, both in Hyderabad, are some of the organisations that received more than `1 crore funding. All NGOs are yet to submit their details for this year.
