AP chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who flew to Delhi this morning to obtain nod for state cabinet expansion, has completed meetings with state affairs incharge Gulam Nabi Azad and Congress president Smt. Sonia Gandhi.
As is the regular practice, Kiran Kumar first met Azad and held discussions for over two hours. According to sources, discussions were mainly focused on cabinet expansion and filling up of nominated posts, that were in pending since long. All pros and cons have been thoroughly discussed and later both of them went to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Though Kiran Kumar insisted on going for a fullfledged cabinet expansion, the high command was in no mood to venture major reshuffle prior to the upcoming by-elections in the state. It is learnt, the high command has given its nod for a mini-expansion limited to the Telangana region.
There are three vacant minister posts from the Telangana region. While Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao resigned their posts for the cause of Telangana, another minister from T-region, Dr. P Shankar Rao has been sacked.
