Speaking to media at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS new entrant and former Congress minister, Jupalli Krishan Rao said that the Congress party is delibrately delaying the formation of separate Telangana state. With folded hands, he appealed to the Telangana region ministers and MLAs to respect people's sentiments by submitting their resignations.
He alleged that the Congress party has buckled under pressure from Seemandhra leaders and is delaying formation of Telangana. It is very unfortunate that the ministers from the region are still clinging to their posts in spite of people are throwing chappals on them. He recalled the incident when he along with fellow ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sridhar Babu went to OU campus and promised the students that we will fight till Telangana is achieved. "When Komatireddy and myself have resigned, why Sridhar Babu is still continuing in his post?", he questioned. He justified his action of quitting the party saying that when party takes to do things which are anti-public, it is not wrong to leave it.
Jupalli alleged that Sridhar Babu siding with Seemandhara leaders and overlooking the aspirations of Telangana students and people. He also alleged that MPs Rayapati sambasiva Rao and Lagadapati Rajagopal are blocking Telangana formation with their money-power. MLAs T Rajaiah and Somarapu Satyanarayana, who also resigned yesterday along with Jupalli, participated in the press meet and supported Jupalli's statements.
