Earth Quake in Pakistan, No loss of lives or properties

 

After Nepal, a moderate earth quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hits neighboring Pakistan on Tuesday afternoon. The epicenter of the quake was in the Hindukush mountain ranges near Tajikistan border at a depth of 144 km. Entire northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country witnessed the tremors for a brief period. However, no loss of life or properties reported. The tremor was felt in Malakand, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir districts of the province, an official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department said. Pakistan has lost more than 73,000 people in a worst earth quake with 7.6magnitude occurred in 2005. Later again in 2013, around 500 people died in southwestern Baluchistan province when an earth quake with 7.7 magnitude hits the country. However, this time Pakistan escaped without any loss of lives or properties.
