Supreme Court ordered Karnataka to release 15000 cusecs of water from the river Cauvery to Tamil Nadu every day for the next ten days. Expressing their happiness a farmer’s association leader said that, Tamil Nadu farmers are hoping that would be an interim order and the final order would give sufficient water for their crops. General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Cauvery Delta Farmer’s welfare Association, S Ranganathan said, “We are happy with Supreme Court’s order. The water, which will be released for ten days, amounts to 12 thousand million cubic and caters the crops till the month of October”. He added that, they should raise the crop before the end of September.
