After the huge traffic jam for over 7hrs in the Gurgoan-Delhi highway which saw people stranded for so long, it now seems like Bengaluru is going through the same situation. Reeling under heavy rains, several parts of Bangalore have turned into small lakes. The situation in IT city has become so grim that fire department is using boats to rescue passengers stranded in rains and traffic jams. Rains threw life out of gear as flooding, overflowing of drainage, uprooting of trees and wall collapses were reported from across the city. The worst affected were many areas in Bommanahalli zone.
Following the breach of a lake, Kodichikkanahalli, Bilekahalli and surrounding areas were flooded, forcing the ground floor residents to move to the upper floors early on Friday morning. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike control rooms were inundated by distress calls from citizens. People were seen wading through waist-deep water at a street in Bengaluru and at other places where people were seen fishing with nets as some of them were able to catch fishes on the main roads of Bangalore.
