Attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi has resulted in 144 Section in Old City. The Chandrayangutta Legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi's condition is critical after unidentified gunmen attacked on him in Chandrayangutta shotwhile back. Police said two other persons were also injured in this attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi and added that the attack is said to have been master-minded by his rivals. Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi is the leader of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in the Assembly.

 

The reason for the attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi is believed to be a land dispute. Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi reportedly sustained bullet and stab injuries on the abdomen and in the hand. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has cancelled all his appointments and is rushing to visit Akbaruddin Owaisi. 144 Section has been imposed in the old city areas and the police commissioner, Mr A.K. Khan, called on 20000 police as security to guard the old city.
