In a major relief to the Andhra Pradesh government, the election commission of India on Thursday has given consent to “Bhommi Pooja” for Building new capital to the newly formed state Andhra Pradesh as well as for Agricultural University in Guntoor.

 

The government had sought the permission to lay foundation to the new capital city as election code has come in to force for the upcoming MLC elections under local bodies. Election commissioner for Telangana and AP, Bhanwarlal said that a conditional permission has been given to AP government over their presentation of achievements after coming to power.

 

However, the election commissioner cleared that government should not make promises for new schemes or development activities until the code is in force.
