Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Dr. Kodela Shiva Prasada rao accompanied his staff visited Nagarjuna University today to find out whether the Daiken Hall in the university suits for conducting Assembly sessions or not. Later speaking to the media he said, “Government wants to conduct the assembly sessions in Guntur keeping in view of people’s ambitions for the same. CM Chandrababu Naidu will take a final decision on this matter, after I submit my report to him.
He declared that assembly sessions will begin from December 5th and will continue till 12th. He said there will be no problem for providing accommodation to MLAs and Ministers, who attend these Assembly meetings.
His reasoning for conducting the Assembly sessions within the state, underlines a point that state government has realized that people are not happy with it for running the government from outside the state. So, government might be conducting these Assembly meetings at Guntur only to send a message that it is not beyond their reach and is quite willing to run the government from the temporary capital Vijayawada. However, government may be also aware that it can’t satisfy the people by merely conducting Assembly sessions for a week in Guntur.
