Don't let marriage effect your friendships     "True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost." goes the saying...   Considering the valuable role friends play in our life it was deemed to fix a day which is dedicated to friends and friendship. Its true that friendship tastes good the longer we are in it. In India we all tend to maintain friendships to a greater extent . But due to various reasons married women and men wont get a chance to continue their friendships which are there before wedding the same way after their wedding too. The men bid good bye to their female friends and girls do the other way round.  Whatever the case may be, post marriage, friendships are viewed in a different light. You are not the same person who can attend calls at any hour of the day or slip out for a sip of coffee when your friend is down and out.     All because marriage is definitely a lifestyle change and a big responsibility all together. They will be so confused that they take long time to adjust to the new relations around. And it is not only married couples who try to adjust to the new environment, but even friends find it difficult to adjust to the new you. Dose that mean they should leave their friendships which were prior to marriage?? Will meeting your good old friend become a problem without a solution? The answer its No..If good care is taken every one can enjoy their freedom in managing the same friends post marriage too.   "First of all a partner needs to ensure that his/her friendship with the opposite sex isn't hampering their married life. ఇంగ్లండ్‌ ప్రధాని థెరెసా- ఎందుకంత ప్రత్యేకం!   ఐరోపా సమాఖ్య నుంచి ఇంగ్లండ్‌ తప్పుకోనుందని తెలియగానే ప్రపంచం విస్తుబోయింది. మిగతా దేశాలను కాదని తమ కాళ్ల మీదే తాము నిలబడాలనుకున్న ఇంగ్లండ్‌వాసుల నిర్ణయాన్ని వెక్కిరించింది. కానీ ఇంగ్లండు దేశ ప్రజలు మాత్రం, ఇది తమ సత్తాను చాటుకునే సందర్భంగా భావిస్తున్నారు. ఓ కొత్త ప్రధాని వారి ఆశలకు అండగా నిలుస్తున్నారు. ఆమే థెరెసా మే! సంక్షోభ సమయంలో ఎవరో ఒకరిని ప్రధానిగా ఎన్నుకోవాలి కాబట్టి థెరెసాను నిలబెట్టారనుకుంటే తప్పులో కాలేసినట్లే! ఆమె జీవితాన్ని తరచి చూసిని వారెవరికైనా ఆమె ఆషామాషీ మనిషి కాదని ఇట్టే అర్థమైపోతుంది. పనిమనుషుల కుటుంబం! థెరెసా చాలా సాధారణ కుటుంబ నేపథ్యం నుంచి వచ్చారు. ఆమె అమ్మమ్మ, నానమ్మ ఇద్దరూ కూడా ఇళ్లలో పనివారుగా జీవనాన్ని సాగించేవారట. థెరెసా తండ్రి చర్చిలో చిరుద్యోగిగా పనిచస్తూ అంచెలంచెలుగా ఓ ఉన్నతాధికారిగా మారాడు. కుటుంబ పరిస్థితులు ఎలా సాగుతున్నా, థెరెసా మాత్రం చదువులో ఒకో అడుగే వేసుకుంటూ పోయారు. 1977 నాటికి ఆక్స్‌ఫర్డ్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో డిగ్రీ పట్టాను చేజిక్కించుకున్నారు. తల్లిదండ్రులు దూరం చదువు పూర్తయిన వెంటనే థెరెసా బ్యాంకింగ్ రంగంలో స్థిరపడ్డారు. జీవితం ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే గాడిన పడుతోందనుకునే సమయంలో మరో విషాదం ఆమెను వెన్నంటింది. 1981లో థెరెసా తండ్రి ఓ కారు ప్రమాదంలో తీవ్రంగా గాయపడి మరణించారు. ఇది జరిగిన మరి కొద్ది రోజులకే ఆమె తల్లి నాడీసంబంధ వ్యాధితో (multiple sclerosis) కన్నుమూసింది. ఆ సమయంలో తీవ్రమైన డిప్రెషన్‌లోకి చేరుకున్న థెరెసాకు ఆమె భర్త ఫిలిప్‌ అండగా నిలిచాడు.   సంతానం లేదు! థెరెసా ఆక్స్‌ఫర్డ్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో చదువుకునే రోజుల్లో ఆమెకు ఫిలిప్‌తో పరిచయం ఏర్పడింది. ఈ పరిచయానికి కారణం పాకిస్తాన్‌ నేత బెనజీర్‌ భుట్టోయే అంటారు. క్రమేపీ ఈ పరిచయం ప్రేమగా మారింది. ఆ ప్రేమ, వివాహానికి (1980) దారితీసింది. థెరెసాకంటే ఫిలిప్ రెండేళ్లు చిన్నవాడు. ఆ దూరం వారిద్దరినీ బాధించలేదు కానీ... వారిద్దరికీ మధ్య సంతానం కలిగే అవకాశం లేదని తేలడమే ఆ దంపతులను బాధించేది. ‘ఇతరుల కుటుంబాలను చూసినప్పుడు, మా దగ్గర లేనిదేదో వారికి దక్కిందని అర్థమవుతూ ఉంటుంది’ అంటూ ఒక ఇంటర్వ్యూలో పేర్కొన్నారు థెరెసా. కానీ ఆ దుఃఖాన్ని తన మనసులోనే దాచుకుని జీవితంలో సాగిపోయారు. టైప్‌ I డయాబెటిస్ గత నాలుగు సంవత్సరాలుగా టైప్‌ I డయాబెటిస్‌తో బాధపడుతున్నారు. డయాబెటిక్‌ రోగులలో ఈ తరహా వ్యాధి కేవలం 5-10 శాతం మందిలో మాత్రమే కనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ వ్యాధి ఉన్నవారు నిరంతరం తమ శరీరంలోని చక్కెర నిల్వలను పరీక్షించుకోవలసి ఉంటుంది. పైగా వారి శరీరంలో ఇన్సులిన్‌ ఉత్పత్తి తగినంతగా జరగదు కనుక, జీవితాంతమూ ఇంజక్షన్ల ద్వారా ఇన్సులిన్‌ను తీసుకోవలని ఉంటుంది. ఇదెంతటి బాధాకరమైన పరిస్థితో అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు. అయితేనేం! సాధారణ కుటుంబ నేపథ్యం, యుక్తవయసులో తల్లదండ్రులు దూరం, సంతానం లేదు, నయం కాని చక్కెర వ్యాధి, తనకంటే చిన్నవాడైన భర్త... చాలామంది ‘కష్టం’ అనుకునే విషయాలనే ఇవన్నీ! కానీ మొదటి నుంచీ రాజకీయాలలో చురుగ్గా ఉన్న థెరెసాను ఈ ఇబ్బందులేవీ అడ్డుకోలేదు. ఆమె సంకల్పాన్ని ఇవి ఏరకంగానూ నీరుగార్చలేదు. అసలు ఇవి కష్టాలే కాదన్నట్లుగా ఆమె ముందుకు సాగిపోయారు. సుదీర్ఘ కాలం కన్జర్వేటివ్‌ పార్టీతో అనుబంధం ఉన్న థెరెసాను, 2010లో బ్రిటన్‌ హోం శాఖ కార్యదర్శిగా నియమించారు. ఆ సమయంలో థెరెసా చూపించిన తెగువ అసాధారణం. ఉగ్రవాదం, గృహహింస, మత్తుపదార్థాలు... ఇలా ఒకటేమిటి! థెరెసా అన్ని సమస్యలనూ ఒక దారికి తెచ్చారు. మన దేశంలో కొందరు, ప్రమాదకారిగా అనుమానిస్తున్న జకీర్‌ నాయక్‌ను తమ దేశంలోకి అడుగు పెట్టనీయకుండా 2010లోనే నిషేధాన్ని విధించారు. అందుకే మాజీ ఇంగ్లండ్‌ ప్రధాని మార్గరెట్‌ థాచర్‌కు ఏమాత్రం తీసిపోని ఉక్కుమహిళగా ప్రపంచం థెరెసాను కీర్తిస్తోంది. ఇక కష్టాలు ఆమెను చూసి తలవంచక ఏం చేస్తాయి! - నిర్జర.  

    Wonder foods that help you fight PMS!     The premenstrual syndrome as we call it as PMS is one thing that reminds all girls of a bad mood or a feeling that you’re bloated or the worst part of it that you’ve got cramps. Though a lot of them resort to popping a pain killing pill, but that might give some adverse effects after all. Infant one of the best weapons against the angst of PMS might just be your diet. So here we give you some wonderful diet options that you could incorporate to get rid of the premenstrual syndrome.   Leafy green Vegetables:  Green leafy vegetables like spinach, fenugreek are loaded with anti-inflammatory nutrients. Like magnesium, which supports brain health, mood, and sleep and may moderate cramps, as well as calcium, fiber, and B-vitamins. Recent research shows that women who consume more B-vitamins seem to suffer less PMS symptoms and B-rich foods have been linked to lower inflammation. Greens also have a bit of iron, and some research has found that iron from plant sources appears to lower the risk of PMS.   Beetroot:  Beetroots are loaded with potassium, which may help relieve bloating, along with natural salts that may calm cramps. Though they have a bad reputation that they’re high in sugar, but they’re in fact good for you. Plus foods that are rich in color are stocked with anti-inflammatory antioxidants especially red fruits and veggies, which contain anthocyanin, an anti-inflammatory chemical compound. Juice them or roast and add to a salad.   Banana:  Too little potassium can cause muscle cramping  the last thing you want when menstrual cramps loom. Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and potassium, which can stop you from retaining water and feeling bloated. A single banana will replace the potassium you lose from one to two hours of exercise, but if you don't like Bananas then you could also replace them with oranges as they are also a good source.   Yogurt:  A cup of low-fat or fat-free yogurt is an excellent source of calcium, often delivering 25 percent or more of your daily requirement. Calcium-rich foods an absolute must for women with PMS. When you’re hungry for a filling and high-nutrition snack, yogurt must be your go to snack. According to a study by researchers which analyzed the calcium and vitamin D intakes of nearly 3,000 women, eating a diet with calcium-rich dairy products, especially those with added vitamin D, lowered the risk for developing PMS by as much as 40 percent.   Eggs:  Eggs offer omega-3s, vitamin D, and protein. Animal proteins like eggs and salmon also have tryptophan, a precursor to serotonin which helps keep our moods stable, which is quite essential for PMS. Also eggs are nutrition powerhouses, and new research shows that people who are healthy can add an egg yolk a day to their diet and stay within the recommended guidelines for cholesterol. Eggs can help fight PMS because they are good sources of vitamins D, B6, and E. A study showed that a diet rich in vitamin D, a diet rich in vitamin B can reduce PMS symptoms. Dark Chocolate:  The magnesium found in a bar of the good stuff may help soothe headaches and cramps. The additional health benefit is that it’s full of antioxidants that help fight inflammation.     Here is why Calcium is important for Older women     Proper calcium intake is important to everyone throughout life because calcium is critical to the health and longevity of our bones. Very few ladies check if there body if having Calcium deficiency or not. This is something every woman must make sure that their body has enough calcium to remain health all through their lives. Calcium is crucial for strong bones and teeth, and it is especially important for children and older women for good bone growth.   Calcium absorption and bone development is at its peak up to age 20, and then decreases at around age 30 when a draining process begins. An adequate intake of calcium, plus an appropriate intake of vitamin D, can significantly increase bone mass in both growing children and young adults, and it can decrease bone loss during ageing.   Calcium is lost daily through hair, skin, nails, sweat, urine. This lost calcium must be replaced, or the body will take calcium from the bones to perform other functions. Research says that if women don't take enough dietary calcium and vitamin D, then there is a chance of the hormones that regulate calcium react negatively with estrogen and progesterone and trigger PMS symptoms.   In case of older women, they must pay particular attention to meeting daily calcium needs. Women, beginning at age 51 need at least 1,200 mg of calcium per day, but it might vary depending on person to person, and your doctor would be a better judge to tell you what is the right about of intake according to your present body levels. Females have a higher rate of bone loss when estrogen levels decline with menopause because estrogen enhances calcium absorption and decreases its excretion.   After menopause, women’s need for calcium increases if they do not take estrogen replacement. Also, as we age we produce less stomach acid which hinders calcium absorption.  Compounding absorption problems in the elderly is low vitamin D levels due to diet and lack of sunlight. Furthermore, females have a lighter bone structure than men, making them more susceptible to osteoporosis.   According to various studies, 68 percent of the 44 million people at risk for osteoporosis are women. And one of every two women over age 50 will likely have an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetime. That’s twice the rate of fractures in men one in four. Also 75 percent of all cases of hip osteoporosis affect women.   Emerging research supports an adequate calcium intake as a means to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Though 99 percent of the calcium in the body is in the bones and teeth, the remaining one percent plays a crucial role in other bodily functions, such as nerve transmission and muscular function.   Poorna's journey to be made into a movie..!     Malavath Poorna who scaled the World's highest peak- Everest, hails from Pakala village, in the district of Nizamabad, Telangana. Scaling the Everest on 25th May 2014, Poorna became the youngest to accomplish this task. Being chosen from Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Schools, Poorna was one among the 108 climbers of the Everest. Poorna, on May 25th at 6 a.m stood on the top of the highest peak and with her were some of the things she carried- her school flag, a photograph of Dalit leader Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Tricolour in a plastic bag acquired from a fancy store in Secunderabad. The mountains echoed the pledge she had always memorized: "I am not inferior to anyone, I shall be a leader, I will think big and aim high, I will never give up...". Poorna had to face a series of hurdles to reach that height. She came across the adverse climate, she had to face the intense weather conditions, she had to sacrifice on her favorite food, she also had to pass by the dead bodies in the snow. At the age of 13, a girl is so strong that she crosses all those barriers and reach the world's tallest peak. Poorna's journey is not just inspiring, but also provides a path for all the women who underestimate their own potential. To make the world know about Poorna's bravery and commitment, a Bollywood movie is to be made.  Rahul Bose is to direct this movie which is based on the story of Malavath Poorna. The pre-production works are going on, and the movie is to get on to the floors soon after that. Details about who is to play the role of Poorna is yet to be out.   Meet India's First Batch of Women Fighter Pilots..!   Yet again, these three young ladies have proved that they are in no way inferior on par with anyone. Making their own mark in the history of Indian military, these women are permitted into combat team. This is for the very first time that women are being allowed to endure in combat team. This is the very first batch of three lady pilots, which is  inducted in Indian Air Force fighter squadron. Going by the names, Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh were appointed to work in Indian Air Force, as combats on Saturday. Until last October, women were not allowed to work as combats in Indian Military. But, then the government decided to open the fighter stream for women. The enforcement of this decision was on an experimental basis for five years. Due to a combination of operational concerns and logistical constraints, the combat roles of women in Army and Navy are yet off limits.   Talking about how it feels to set a new mark in Indian Military, Mohana Singh says, " It was a dream of my parents and grandparents to see me fly. It was for flying, I joined the Indian Air Force".  Mohana's father is with the IAF and grandfather is still serving as a flight gunner in the Aviation Research Centre. This batch will be given an intense, advanced jet training on Hawks. They need to endeavor and become eligible with 145 hours of on-the-air experience with the Hawks to get into the cockpit of a supersonic fighter. These ladies have made the whole country proud, by making the impossible thing to happen. We wish there are more of such brave ladies, who join the Indian Military. The inspiration these three of them spread is a thing that is needed to be appreciated. Bows to them.

  Here is how you maintain your silk sarees!     Almost every Indian woman would agree to the fact that each saree in their wardrobe has its own story like when and where it was purchased and for what occasion was it purchased for. And women hold silk sarees especially close to their heart!. Here are some tips and tricks to keep you silk sarees as good as new! -It is advisable to avoid the use of soap at least for the first couple of washes as chemicals damage the fabric. But for later you could use a mild Shampoo or detergent for washing. Alternatively you could also use a protein shampoo with warm/cold water. -In order to avoid stains, wash the pallu, border and body of the saree separately. Alternatively you could consider dry-cleaning the clothes as it is the best way to take care of silk, since the solvents used do not affect silk. - After washing make sure you do not leave it bundled up in a wet condition, this would spoil the cloth. Dry the saree immediately after wash and also make sure it does not come in direct contact with the sun light - As these sarees are worn only for 2 to 3 hrs at a time, there is no need to wash it after every use, just airing it inside the house will do. - Most of the sarees that we purchase for our weddings are kept safely inside the wardrobe, and left untouched for ages with so many memories woven into it. But it is always suggested that we refold them every 3 months to avoid tear in the sarees because of the folds. -It is advisable for us to keep them in a dry and cold place covered preferably in a muslin cloth and always fold in such a way to avoid damage to the zari. Also in order to not damage the zari in the long run, it would be better for the zari to be faced inwards to preserve sheen of the  saree. Just a few precautions in selection of curtain could bloom your house. Watch out...   Colour: - It’s always good to avoid those colours that certainly fade after a few washes or by sunlight. They would shatter the goodwill of your choice. - Keep in mind the colour of the room and the surroundings of a window. It’s always better to select a colour that is contrast with the room. - Think about the room you are decorating. Colours like bright pink might suit the bedroom but not the Hall. - The design along with the colour would either make room appear dark and congested or brighter and spacious. Stripes, dots, patterns... on a curtain would all affect the way a room looks.   Headings: Headings are the ones which join the curtain with the rod. We might use metal hooks or rings or straps to hang the curtain to the rod. But each heading has its own movement and appearance. Decide the type of heading you wish before you leap for a purchase.   Measurements: Everyone loves to see their window fully covered. But most of us forget other factors that affect the measurements. So we often end up with a curtain that is either short or lengthy. - The Headings of the window would affect its length and width. Straps might increase the length of the curtain where as rings would affect the width. - The height of the curtain rod would also affect the view and length of a curtain. The placement of curtain rod should also be thought well before the fixture. - Decide the extent of curtain that should be left hanging beneath the window.   Valance: It common now a days to select a curtain that has a decorative piece attached on the top. Imagine the shape of Valance that would suit your window before you pick up the curtain.   Quality: Every one of us has some expertise in determining the quality and durability of a cloth. But there is another test for a curtain. Just pick up the curtain you have selected and place it before a bright light. You will be surprised to see some curtains allowing patches of light due to poor weaving.   Meet Smita Sabharwal... Young and Efficient IAS     You may have seen her photos on Face Book. You might have seen her clippings on the Channels. Most of us might immediately recognise her as a young IAS officer. But Smita Sabharwal is not just any ordinary officer. Watch out...   Daughter of a Colonel: Smita is daughter Colonel Pranab Das, a retired army officer. Pranab Das used to travel various parts of the country on duty and so does his family along with him. Smita has reached Hyderabad by the end of her schooling days. She has completed her 12th standard in St. Ann’s, and graduated in Commerce from St. Francis Degree College.   Not just a father: Smita’s father has carefully guided her career. He advised her to take commerce stream during the 12th standard. Smita was initially very angry about the push. But she was more than happy when she bagged the first rank in the all India ICSE Class 12 exams. After completing B.Com, it was her father again who suggested her to pursue the civil exams immediately.   Excellence in Civils: Smita cleared the Civil Services Examination by a very young age of 23. She was probably one of the youngest women to clear the exam at the first attempt. And she has not just cleared it, but made a blast with an all India 4th rank.   Not just looks: Many have mistaken her to be just a girl with good looks. But Smita gave a tight slap to their narrow minds. She excelled in every post she was appointed. Sub collector of Chittoor, DRDA director of Kadpa, Municipal Commisioner of Warangal... she made her mark in every field she has entered.   Daring:  In 2011 Smita has been appointed as Collector of Karimnagar where she has excelled at par. Smita has run various programs like “Amma Lalana” and “Praja Vaani”... which has led Karimnagar to be awarded as best district in PM's 20 Point Programme. Smita was later appointed as Collector of Medak. Her efficiency has led Telangana CM KCR to appoint her as Additional Secretary in his office.   And Dashing: Smita is the first lady IAS officer to be appointed to the Chief Minister’s Office. But some are not happy about it. A column appeared in Outlook magazine with derogatory remarks about her. It was alleged in the column that she was chosen based on her looks. You can’t expect Smita to bear such remarks. She immediately sued the magazine. Outlook has immediately apologised for the misdeed.   Doesn’t miss life: Smita might have excelled in her academics. But she has never missed her life. Smita claims that she used to study for only 6 hours a day and spend an hour in sports. She loves Paradise Biryani and is interested in social service. Meet `Susan Wojcicki’- the 47 year lady who changed the course of Internet history. One of the most successful personalities in Google as well as You Tube.    Susan and Google Susan has been with Google since the start. In fact Google has started functioning in the garage of Susan. That was the year 1998 and Susan was the 16th employee of Google. She went on to become the first marketing manager of Google by the next year.   Susan and AdSence Susan grew up along with Google becoming its vice-President of Advertising and Commerce. It was Susan who developed the idea of turning googled words into money. She went on to develop Ad Sense which became the second largest revenue source for Google.   Susan and YouTube YouTube was relatively a small site in 2006 and Google has its own video service called Google Video. But Susan believed in the potential of YouTube and insisted Google to acquire it. It was Susan who spearheaded the purchase of YouTube by Google and is now the CEO of YouTube.   Susan and Google search It was Susan who thought of attaching Google search engine to every website. The best things about Sania Mirza   Sania Mirza is often considered the most successful female tennis player from India. People might like her or hate her... but it’s hard to ignore her and her achievements. Let’s just watch the best things in her life. At the age of six Sania was Just Six years old when she has decided to become a tennis star. Tennis is not a favourite sport for an orthodox Muslim family... but her father wanted to change the trend. Very few people knew that Sania’s father Imran Mirza was her first coach. `My family and I never hesitated for a moment to do what needed to be done to build Sania’s tennis career, ` recalls Imran. The Hiccup Sania’s first major title came at just 17 years of age. She has won the 2003 Wimbledon Championships Girls' Doubles and that was the start of her collection of best trophies in the world. But Sania started to fall back after reaching her career best ranking of 27 by 2007. Though it was the best rank by any Indian tennis star, she was unable to reach further heights due her injuries.     The Change Sania has decided not to push herself hard in Singles. Rather she has decided to pursue her career in Doubles. Sania is powerful in her serving and returning the ball... but she can’t move swiftly around the court. She knew that if someone accompanies her in the court... the chances of her victory might get improved. Sania started playing mixed doubles and women’s doubles. And her decision proved to be perfect. Sania is now in No.1 rank in women’s doubles. Facing the Fatwa Some people are certainly not happy with Sania’s apparel on court. Sania was surrounded with threats to change her dress. They wanted her to wear long tunics with headscarves. She had to be accompanied by huge security at the tennis court. But she never backed up. She felt that what she was wearing was for the comfort of the game and not for modelling. Sania’s racket probably spoke more than her. Her consecutive victories on grass court thrashed the demands for long tunics. Marriage that none liked Sania was first engaged to her childhood friend Sohrab. But for the reasons better known to her, that was cancelled. People started cursing her when she has decided to marry the Pakistani Cricketer Shoaib Malik. Sania had to assure time and again that she is Indian and would never part with the country. She brushed aside the demands that she should be playing for Pakistan.   Never minced her words Sania never felt shy at expressing her opinion. From safe sex to politics in tennis federation- Sania was ready to face the ire of the opponents for expressing her views. That might be the reason why she found her way in too many elite lists. She was named in Time magazine's 2016 list of the 100 most influential people in the world. She finds a credible mention in records like "50 Heroes of Asia" & "33 women who made India proud". కాళ్లు లేకపోతేనేం- కలలున్నాయిగా!   జీవితంలో ప్రతి ఒక్క పరిస్థితీ కలిసిరాకపోతే తెగ బెంగపడిపోతాం. ఇక ఏదన్నా వైకల్యం ఉందా ఇక చెప్పనే అక్కర్లేదు. అలాంటి పుట్టినప్పటి నుంచి కాళ్లూ, చేతులూ లేని మనిషి ఓ గొప్ప చిత్రకారిణిగా రూపొందడం ఎంత ప్రేరణని ఇస్తుందో కదా! అలాంటి ప్రేరణని అందించే కథే అను జైన్‌ది. ఖరగ్‌పూర్‌కి చెందిన అను జైన్‌ని పుట్టుక నుంచే దురదృష్టం వెన్నాడింది. ఆమెకు మోకాళ్ల నుంచి కాళ్లు లేవు. మోచేతుల నుంచి చేతులూ లేవు. అయినా ఉన్న అవయవాలతోనే తన రోజువారీ పనులను చకచకా చేసేసుకునేది అను. దానికి తోడు అనుకి కావల్సినంత స్థైర్యాన్ని అందించే కుటుంబం ఎలాగూ ఉండేది. అందుకని అను ఏ రోజూ తను బలహీనురాలని అనుకోలేదు. తన జీవితంలో ఏదో లోటు ఉందని అంగీకరించలేదు. ఒక రోజు అను వాళ్లమ్మ అనుకి పెయింట్లూ, బష్షులూ అందించింది. ఇక అంతే! మిగతావారితో కలిసి జీవితంలో దూసుకుపోయేందుకు ఆమెకో మార్గం కనిపించింది. అనుకి గులాబీలు అంటే చాలా ఇష్టం. అలా మొట్టమొదటి మంచిమంచి రంగురంగుల గులాబీలు గీయడం మొదలుపెట్టింది.   రోజులు గడిచేకొద్దీ అను తన చుట్టూ ఉన్న ప్రపంచాన్నంతా తనదైన శైలిలో కాన్వాసు మీద చిత్రించడం మొదలుపెట్టింది. అలాగని ఆమెవి ఏదో సాదాసీతా చిత్రాల్లాగా కనిపించవు. ఆధునిక కళాఖండాలకు ఏమాత్రం తీసిపోనట్లుగా ఆమె చిత్రాలు ఉంటాయి. ఎందకంటే అను ఏదో కాలక్షేపం కోసం గీసిన చిత్రాలు కావవి. తనలోని చిత్రకళను మెరుగుపర్చుకునేందుకు ఆమె చండీఘడ్‌లోని ప్రాచీన కళా కేంద్రం నుంచి ఏడేళ్లుగా చిత్రకళలో మెలకువలు నేర్చుకుంటున్నారు కూడా. కేవలం చిత్రకళే కాదు... ఖరగ్‌పూర్‌లో తనలాంటివారి అవసరాలకు అనుగుణమైన పాఠశాల లేకపోయినప్పటికీ, తండ్రి సాయంతో, కంప్యూటర్ తోడుగా హైస్కూలు స్థాయి విద్యను కూడా నేర్చుకుంది.   అనుకి ఇప్పుడు 32 ఏళ్ల వయసు. తన వయసువారికి ఉండే అచ్చటా ముచ్చటా అనుకి లేకపోలేదు. కానీ ఆమె జీవితం హాయిగా, తృప్తిగా సాగిపోతోంది. తండ్రి రిటైరైన తరువాత ఇప్పుడా కుటుంబం బెంగళూరులో స్థిరపడింది. బెంగళూరులోనూ అను ప్రభకేం లోటురాలేదు. ఈ మధ్యే అక్కడి భారతీయ విద్యాభవన్‌లో తన చిత్రకళను ప్రదర్శించారు అను. పెన్సిల్ దగ్గర్నుంచీ వాటర్‌ కలర్స్‌ దాకా... గ్లాస్‌ మొదల్కొని ఫ్యాబ్రిక్‌ దాకా ఏ మాధ్యమంలో అయినా, ఏ పరికరం మీద అయినా అను కళాఖండాన్ని తీర్చిదిద్దేస్తుంది. అను తన ఇంటి చుట్టూ ఉన్న పిల్లలందరినీ చేరదీసి చిత్రకళలో మెలకువలు కూడా నేర్పేస్తోంది.     కేవలం చిత్రకళే కాదు! ఫొటోలు, సంగీతం, కవిత్వం... చెప్పుకుంటూ పోతే అనుకి చాలా రంగాల్లో ప్రవేశం ఉంది. అను పియానోని అద్భుతంగా వాయిస్తుంది. టెర్రకోటాతో బొమ్మలు చేస్తుంది. తీరిక సమయాలలో పిల్లలతో ఆడుతుంది. మనసు బాగున్నప్పుడో, బాగోలేనప్పుడో గొంతు సవరించుకుని పాడుతుంది. ఇంతకీ అను తనకంటూ గుర్తింపుని సాధించడానికి కారణం ఏంటి? అన్న ప్రశ్నలోనే జవాబు ఉంది. తనకంటూ ఓ ప్రత్యేకత ఉందని చాటుకోవడం కోసమే ఇదంతా సాధించగలిగానని అంటోంది అను. పైగా తన సాధనలో ఏమంత కష్టం తోచలేదని చెప్పుకొస్తోంది. మనం ఏ పనిలో అయితే సంతోషాన్ని పొందుతామో, ఆ పని చివరికి ఒక అందమైన ఫలితాన్ని ఇస్తుందంటోంది అను. ఇంక అంతకు మించి చెప్పేదేముంది. - నిర్జర.  

అందంగా ఉంటేనే గుర్తిస్తారా!   పురుషాధిక్య సమాజం, మహిళా సాధికారత... లాంటి మాటలు పెద్దవే కావచ్చు. ఫెమినిజం అనేది ఓ పట్టాన కొరుకుడపడకపోవచ్చు. కానీ సంస్కారం అనేది ఒకటి ఉంటుంది. సమాజం ఆ సంస్కారాన్ని మరచినప్పుడు ఎవరో ఒకరికి ఒళ్లు మండి గొంతెత్తి తీరుతారు. అలాంటి ఓ సంఘటనే ఇప్పుడు సంచలనంగా మారింది. ఇటీవల దైనిక్‌ భాస్కర్‌ అనే హిందీ పత్రికకు చెందిన భాస్కర్‌.కాం ఒక నివేదికను తయారుచేసింది. పది చూడదగ్గ ప్రదేశాలు, పది తినదగ్గ వంటలు... అని జాబితాలు రూపొందించినట్లు ‘అందమైన పదిమంది మహిళా IAS, IPS  అధికారులు’ అంటూ ఓ జాబితాను తయారుచేసి వదిలింది.   ఈ జాబితాలో కేరళకు చెందిన మెరిన్‌ జోసెఫ్‌ ఒకరు. కేరళ ఐపీఎస్‌ క్యాడర్‌కు చెందిన మెరిన్‌... అత్యంత చిన్న వయసులో ఆ హోదాను దక్కించుకున్న వ్యక్తిగా, ప్రతిభావంతురాలైనా అధికారిణిగా ఈపాటికే వార్తల్లో నిలిచారు. కానీ ఆమెను తరచూ తన ప్రతిభతో కాకుండా అందంతో గుర్తించడం మెరిన్‌కు మొదటినుంచీ బాధగా ఉండేది. ‘ఇలాంటి అందమైన అధికారి ఎదుట ఎవరైనా లొంగిపోతారు’ తరహా వ్యాఖ్యలు ఆమెను ఇబ్బంది పెట్టేవి. అలాంటిది ఇప్పుడు ఏకంగా ‘అందమైన అధికారుల’ పేరుతో ఒక జాబితాను విడుదల చేసేసరికి మెరిన్‌ కోపం కట్టలు తెంచుకుంది. పోలీసు, రక్షణ శాఖలో ఉండే అధికారులు సాధారణంగా వివాదాలకు అతీతంగా ఉంటారు. కానీ మెరిన్‌ భాస్కర్‌.కాం వంటి జాబితాలకు ఒక ముగింపు పలకాలని అనుకున్నారు. తన ఫేస్‌బుక్‌ ద్వారా గతవారం ఆ వార్త మీద తీవ్రంగా విరుచుకుపడ్డారు.   మన దేశంలోని పత్రికలు, ముఖ్యంగా ప్రాంతీయ పత్రికల వైఖరి ఎంత దారుణంగా ఉందో ఈ వార్తను చూస్తే తెలిసిపోతుందన్నారు మెరిన్‌. మహిళల ప్రతిభను, భౌతికమైన అందం స్థాయికి ఈ వార్త దిగజార్చిందన్నారు. కష్టతరమైన పరిస్థితుల మధ్య బాధ్యతలను నిర్వహిస్తూ, నానారకాల రాజకీయాలను ఎదుర్కొంటున్న సదరు ఆఫీసర్లను..... గుడ్లప్పగించుకుని చూసేలా మార్చేశారన్నారు. తెలివితోనూ, స్వయంకృషితోనూ పైకెదిగిన తమలాంటి వారికి నిజంగా ఇదొక అవమానమంటూ ఉతికిపారేశారు. చివరగా... అందమైన మగ IAS, IPS అధికారులు అంటూ ఏనాడన్నా మనం ఓ జాబితాను చూశామా? అంటూ జవాబు లేని ప్రశ్న వేశారు. మెరిన్‌ సమాధానం ఇప్పుడు సోషల్‌ మీడియాలో ఓ సంచలనం. మీడియాకు ఒక చెంపపెట్టు. ఎందుకంటే మన ప్రకటనల దగ్గర్నుంచీ పెళ్లి చూపుల దాకా.... ‘ఆడవాళ్లకి ప్రతిభ ఉంటే సరిపోదు, అందం కూడా ఉండాల్సిందే’ అన్న మాటల తాకిడి ఎక్కువవుతోంది. ఆఖరికి ఎమ్మెల్యేగా ఎన్నికైనవారిని కూడా అల్లరి మూకలు వదలడం లేదు. మొన్నటికి మొన్న అసోం నుంచి ఎమ్మెల్యేగా ఎన్నికైన ‘అంగూర్‌లతా దేకా’ గురించి ఇలాంటి మాటలు చాలానే వినిపించాయి. మన తెలుగుజాతి ముద్దుబిడ్డ రామ్‌గోపాల్‌ వర్మ సైతం అంగూర్‌లత గురించి తనదైన శైలిలో నానా రాతలూ రాశారు. ఇలాంటి ఆలోచనా ధోరణని ఎంత త్వరగా అడ్డుకుంటే అంత మంచిది. అందం అనేది కేవలం బాహ్యపరమైనదే అనీ, పైపై మెరుగులకు మించిన విలువలు ఈ జీవితంలో చాలా ఉంటాయనీ... ఇప్పటి యువత తెల్సుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. - నిర్జర.
