Updated : Mar 12, 2025
Sonu Nigam, the renowned singer and a legend in Indian Music Industry, implicated IIFA for bowing down to political influence. He did not mince words but sarcastically pointed out for not being nominated in best male playback singers for the award. He sang Mere Dolna 3.0 from Bhool Bhulaiya 3.
While the song received immense praises all over, the singer is upset for not even being considered for nominations. The movie did win multiple awards at the event and the singer anticipated a nomination, at the least. The singer pointed out political bureucracy as he got into a tiff with Rajasthan government.
During his concert in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and several politicians walked away in the middle of a song. He got upset and stated that if politicians don't time to stay till the concert ends, they should not be attending them.
So, he implied Rajasthan government influencing IIFA to not even nominate him in the category. The song has become a smashing hit upon release and many talked about how Sonu could bring different emotions in his voice while being classically strong.
