'Utsavam' is a Telugu drama written and directed by Arjun Sai, starring Dilip Prakash and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. Suresh Patil is producing the film under Hornbill Pictures. Prakash Raj, Nasser, Rajendra Prasad, and Brahmanandam play key roles. The film has already generated positive buzz with its teaser and trailer songs. It will have a grand release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, distributed by Mythri Movie Distributors, and is set to hit the screens on September 13. In this context, hero Dilip Prakash shared insights about the film in a press conference.

How did the Utsavam begin? Tell us about your journey

"I have been interested in movies since my school days. As a child, I used to write and perform plays at school. After completing my MBA, I got an offer to play a small role in a movie. Later, I acted in a Kannada film called *Crazy Boy*. It was at the success meet of that film that I met director Arjun Sai, who shared the story of Utsavam. It’s a film with a very respectable subject, reflecting his six-year journey."

What aspects of the Utsavam impressed you?

"The story itself is very impressive. The narrative is the hero of the film. We have many wonderful actors like Prakash Raj, Nassar, Rajendra Prasad, and Brahmanandam. It has been a great journey, and I have learned a lot from them."

How was it working with Regina Cassandra?

"Regina is a sweet co-actor who was very helpful. I learned a lot from her, and I felt very comfortable working with her."

How do you think the Utsavam will be received?

"This film, inspired by Surabhi Natak Samaj, is about stage artists. It reminds us of our roots, with elements of family drama and romance. Anup Rubens has composed excellent music. The film is like a package of entertainment, featuring many great actors. Some viewers have described it as a 'feel-good' and 'light-hearted' movie."

How did you feel working with a senior actor like Prakash Raj?

"Sharing the screen with a versatile actor like Prakash Raj was very challenging, but I enjoyed the process immensely. It gave me great joy when Prakash Raj praised my performance with a 'good job.'"

How do you feel about Mythri Movie Distributors releasing the film in Telugu?

"Shashi Garu from Mythri Movie Distributors has seen the movie and liked it very much. We feel fortunate that such renowned companies are releasing the film."

Will there be a message in this movie?

"While the film showcases the hero's return to dramas, it does so in an entertaining manner rather than delivering a direct message. It portrays Telugu culture and tradition very well."

About Anup Rubens' music?

"Anup Rubens provided a wonderful album for my first film, and I thank him for that. The lyrics by Ananth Sriram, Bhaskara Bhatla, and Vanamali are fantastic. Art director Brahma Kadali did amazing work, paying attention to every detail. Everyone involved contributed significantly to the film's story."

You speak Telugu well, How?

"Yes, my father's side is Telugu, from Hindupur, and my mother's side is Kannada. Jai Balayya!" (smiling)

"I like action movies. My next film will be in the action genre."
