Updated : Jun 14, 2011
The Indian summer has come to an end and so as the Tollywood summer. We have witnessed quite a few number of big releases in 2011 summer and may of them plummeted at the box office. The makers of all high budget movies are trying to depict their muscle power through collections and star casting but overlooked content and story. Some of these movies created good buzz at the box office while few plummeted. Here's a compendium of 1st day collections of movies, which are released this summer.
Jr NTR Shakti – Came with gigantic expectations and record first day collections but only managed a disaster and you can blame it on the director Meher Ramesh for script and execution blunders.
Pawan Kalyan Teenmaar - Pawan Kalyan was under pressure to deliver a hit after Komaram Puli washout but just managed an average movie. However, to Pawan's standards Theen maar is a failure.
Prabhas Mr Perfect - Prabhas Mr Perfect came like a breadth of fresh air in this hot summer. Prabhas managed to draw the youth and family crowd with his cool antics and melodrama.
Naga Chaitanya 100% Love – Naga Chaitanya's 100% Love was another refreshing movie this summer. He came quietly and has bagged a huge success with Sukumar and further elevated his image as lover boy.
Ravi Teja Veera - Ravi Teja Veera was released with a negative buzz. True to the expectations, there's nothing in the film except heavy dosage of senseless violence and action sequences.
Allu Arjun Badrinath – One of the biggest hyped movies of this year, Allu Arjun's Badrinath movie released in record number of theaters but could only manage a disappointment. No wonder director VV Vinayak and story writer Chinni Krishna were severely criticize.
So going by the above stats, who is Tollywood's top summer hero?
I think I have to say Naga Chaitanya!
