Snehitudu Telugu movie review - Snehitudu movie review - Snehitudu Telugu movie review: Remaking a film which has attained blockbuster status globally is a challenge as people usually draw comparisons in their own way. All we can say is, director Shankar who presents every film in a novel way has made a brave attempt and earned good marks with his first ever remake (Nanban) – Dubbed as Snehitudu in Telugu. Despite being a mass hero, Vijay has accepted this film only because he believed in what Shankar can deliver. Yes, both Vijay and Shankar have pulled this film off with ease.
Story:
Pani, Venkat and Nihil are three engineering students who share a room in Ideal College of Engineering. Venkat is pursuing engineering against his wish of becoming a Wild Life Photographer. Nikhil is studying to change his family's fortunes and wants to pull them out of poverty. Pani is passionate on machines and believes in applications than memorizing the definitions. The rest of the story is all about how they successfully pass out from the college by winning the hearts of everyone around.
Analysis:
Director Shanakar hasn’t made any major changes to the original 3 idiots, and focused on how better he can narrate and present a known storyline to the audience with sensibilities. Though the story of the film is known to many, Shankar’s adroit in presenting Snehitudu in a unique way spares the audience from getting bored mid-way in to the film. Vijay showcased what he can do in a role that lacks heroism unlike his past films. He is outstanding in the comedy timing and equally good in emotional sequences. He got able support from Jiiva and Sriram. Ileana looks pale and only confined to songs and her performance is also mediocre. SJ Suriyah’s cameo is impressive and comes at the right moment bringing the true tinge to the story.
The character played by Sathyan as Srinivas aka Silencer is adequate and evokes laughter through out the film. His speech in the college function is hilarious. The voice over lent by Sunil to this character is received well by the audience. The black and white description of Jiiva's family, the hospital scene and the episode where Sriram talks to his father leaves a lasting impact on the audience. The unrealistic scenes (in the second half) like delivery episode, campus interview, etc. might not connect well.
TeluguOne Perspective:
The production values by Gemini Film Circuit are neat and top notch. Harris Jayaraj’s music won’t engage with the audience. Editing by Anthony could have been better as the film is far too long in length.
Performances:
Vijay has done his best to imitate Aamir Khan in the role of Panchabhatla Sarangapani. Jiiva performed very well in his role as Nikhil Sanakkayala. Another actor who needs a special accolade is Sriram - he fits the bill perfectly as Venkat Ramakrishna and has done justice to what Madhavan did in the original version. Sathyaraj does well and brings some laughter to the audience as Virus.
Final Word:
Snehitudu Movie Review: Snehitudu is a film which is laced with entertainment, emotion and sentiment. Watch the film for Shankar’s taking and appealing storyline.
Snehitudu Rating: 2.75 / 5
