Shankar shelved Anniyan remake with Ranveer Singh?

Maverick Filmmaker Shankar is currently fully focused on "Indian 2," promotions which is slated for a July 12th release. Apart from this, Shankar still needs to finish shooting "Game Changer" with Ram Charan, for which the release date has yet to be announced.

Additionally, Shankar has completed filming "Indian 3" and now has to oversee its post-production work. As part of his promotional activities for "Indian 2," Shankar revealed details about a previously announced project with Ranveer Singh. 

Shankar shared that the film with Ranveer Singh, initially planned as a remake of "Anniyan," has been shelved. Instead, they are now in discussions for a larger project.

He said, "We had plans to remake 'Anniyan' in Hindi with Ranveer Singh, but after considering bigger films in Indian languages, our producers asked me to work on something grander. Discussions are ongoing, and I will decide after the release of 'Indian 2,' 'Game Changer,' and 'Indian 3,'" Shankar stated.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has completed his work on "Singham Again," which is set to release this year. He is currently on a break and preparing for his next project, "Don 3," directed by Farhan Akhtar, with Kiara Advani playing the lead role.
