SR University Announces Honorary Doctorate to Tanikella Bharani

Famous poet, dialogue writer, stage actor, and film actor Tanikella Bharani, known for his extensive contributions to Telugu cinema, has acted in over 800 films and is affectionately referred to as 'Maa Bharani' by many in the Telugu community. On Thursday, SR University in Warangal announced that they would confer an honorary doctorate on him.
Tanikella Bharani has achieved numerous accolades as a writer, contributing to 52 films. He has also received five Nandi awards from the state government: Best Villain for 'Samudram', Best Character Actor for 'Nuvvu Nenu', Best Actor for 'Grahanam', and Best Writer and Best Director for 'Mithunam'.
The honorary doctorate will be awarded to him during the university's graduation ceremony on Saturday (August 3rd). SR University, a 40-year-old institution, has previously honored Oscar winner Chandra Bose with an honorary doctorate after becoming a university.
