Pushpa 2 The Rule slows down in South India but smashing in North

Pushpa 2 The Rule has been one of the most awaited films of Indian Cinema. Movie starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil released on 5th December with premieres on 4th December. The movie collections have been huge for the first day with official producer number standing at Rs.294 crores and trade at 250-285 crores.

Whomever we believe, the number is All Time Record for any Indian film. But the second day collections in South India did not really reach the same height. In Kerala, the movie did not get a positive feedback and Karnataka, Tamil Nadu markets saw drop due to Friday, working day.

But the home markets of Allu Arjun, director Sukumar - Telugu States have been disappointing for the second day. While the movie did collect close to 19 crores share, the movie collected way less than RRR, Kalki 2898 AD. This is a bit of a drawback for the makers as they anticipated the huge run to continue at least for first weekend. Even with low turnout on Day 2, the movie still holds the all-time high position with Rs.425 crores gross, worldwide.

The movie is making up for the lost ground in North India. From Hindi markets, movie collected Rs.59 crores Nett on the second day despite being a working day. Saturday and Sunday collections are expected to be huge as well. North American Box Office is trending the best among Overseas markets as well.

North American market has good Hindi speaking population and it seems like North Indians have latched up on to Pushpa Raj character more than Telugu people. With Pushpa The Rule being a sleeper hit in North India, the character seems to have more fans in the diaspora and hence, this huge reception.

Well, distributors and exhibitors in Telugu states have decided to decrease ticket rates to increase the turnout. We have to see how evening and night shows on Saturday will perform in Telugu States and on Sunday, the movie makers are hoping for families to turn up.
