SCOOP: Five Films, Equal Flaws, One Target
Updated : Dec 30, 2015
Coming Sankranthi season will see five films hitting the screens. They are Jr NTR's Nannaku Prematho, Balayya's Dictator, Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinni Nayana, Sharawanad's Express Raja and if possible Sunil's Krishnashtami. Who among these movies are likely to click better? If that's the question then the answer is— everyone is having their share of flops.
Sukumar is not enjoying his stardom at the moment though people praise him for the result of Kumari 21 F. His previous directorial 1-Nenokkadine is still a nightmare. And now, Nannaku Prematho also looks like having similar tinge of such intelligent dialogues and little confusing screenplay. In that case, how people will be able to understand the movie is a question. By the time audiences got in sync with movies like Arya 2 and Nenokkadine, they are out of theatres. It also looks like Jr NTR's film is devoid of mass elements, which is another minus point.
Dictator sounds like another routine treat from Nandamuri Balakrishna. From songs to dialogues, a little exaggeration could be felt. These are the days where audiences are rejecting routine stuff, even its from a big hero. Also Kona Venkat and his associates have delivered five flops in a row and Dictator being their 6th film, expectations got lowered.
Soggade Chinni Nayana sounds like a class village entertainer, but one Nagarjuna playing the role of a ghost is something that lingers a doubt. Such ghost characters haven't clicked well at box office from a time. Though the film is full of comedy dose, somehow age is not on Nagarjuna's side this time, when he's romancing Lavanya Tripathi.
Sharwanad's Express Raja and Sunil's Krishashtami are low on expectations. Their theatre range might be limited and with three biggies around their promotions may not be visible to many. So all the five plotted films for Pongal 2016 are have equal flaws, releasing with the sole target of becoming a Sankranthi King.
