Updated : Sep 10, 2024
The sequel to the blockbuster Mathu Vadalara, titled Mathu vadalara 2, is gearing up to entertain audiences. Directed by Ritesh Rana, the film stars Satya in the lead role, with Sri Simha Koduri as his sidekick and Faria Abdullah as the heroine. Presented by the prestigious Mythri Movie Makers, the film is produced by Chiranjeevi (Cherry) and Hemalatha Pedamallu under the Clap Entertainment banner. The recently released teaser has generated significant buzz, and the movie is set to release on September 13. In this context, hero Sri Simha discussed the film’s features in a press conference.
How was the preparation for Mathu vadalara 2?
"The preparation went very well. The look and character styling have changed. We’ve portrayed the characters as agents of the 'He' team, and there are more action scenes compared to the first part."
Was the idea for Mathuvadalara 2 in place from the beginning?
"Cherry and I wanted to make a sequel after the original film’s success. Director Ritesh began writing the script last year. The sequel will show how the delivery boys from the first part evolved into agents."
Part one was a big hit. Are you feeling pressure for the sequel?
"There’s always pressure with a successful first part. However, Ritesh’s story for the sequel developed naturally and aligns well with the original. The credit for this seamless transition goes to the director."
Why has there been limited promotion until now?
"We adopted a new strategy, keeping things under wraps to build excitement. Announcing early could lead to a drop in buzz by the release. We aimed to maintain high anticipation and, judging by the current excitement, it seems our strategy worked."
What was Prabhas’s reaction to the trailer launch?
"He enjoyed it a lot and was very excited after seeing the teaser trailer. He only invests time if he genuinely likes something."
How was working with Faria Abdullah?
"Faria is well-suited for comedic roles and brings a natural fun element. Her character in the film also includes action scenes. She contributed to writing and choreographing a song for the movie, which has been effectively used in promotions."
Is the film a murder mystery with a drug backdrop?
"The first part had elements of drug trafficking along with the murder mystery. The sequel will add new layers to these elements."
Is there any experimentation in the music?
"Given the success of the first part’s music and BGM, we believe the second part will also stand out in this regard."
How did it feel to interact with the audience after the Madhu Vadalara re-release?
"Reuniting after five years was wonderful. Many who missed the first part in theaters were thrilled to see it."
What was SS Rajamouli’s reaction?
"Rajamouli liked the teaser and trailer very much and was pleased with the product."
When is the premiere?
"We are planning a premiere on the 12th, though details are still being finalized."
How many meme references are there in this movie?
"The film includes references to memes, in line with current trends, but it also offers a story and characters that will appeal to those unfamiliar with social media. The film promises double the fun and thrill."
How is the combination with Satya in the second part?
"Our chemistry from the first part worked very well, and it continues strongly in the sequel. We will both feature prominently throughout the film. Vennela Kishore will also appear in a completely different character from the first part."
What can you say about director Ritesh Rana?
"Ritesh is a very clear and focused director with a well-defined vision for the film."
Will there be more installments in this franchise?
"It’s definitely a possibility. This franchise has the potential for more installments."
Thoughts on Mythri Movie Makers and Clap Entertainment?
"I’m grateful to the producers for assembling such a fantastic team. They increased the scale of the second part significantly, and the film has been shot grandly."
What about your new projects?
"All my new projects are in development. My plan is to tackle them one by one after this."
