Liger effect on Double Ismart in Nizam?

In the highly anticipated film Double ISMART, director Puri Jagannadh brings together Ustaad Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in a dynamic clash of protagonist and antagonist. Set for a Pan India release on August 15th, this sequel to the blockbuster iSmart Shankar promises to deliver even more intensity and grandeur than its predecessor.

It is known Puri Jagannadh faced significant fallout from the film Liger, which proved to be a major failure. The film led to substantial financial losses for buyers and exhibitors, and despite Puri Jagannadh's promise to compensate, he did not follow through.

Warangal Srinu, the film’s distributor, suffered severe losses and subsequently withdrew from the distribution business. Meanwhile, some exhibitors in the Nizam and Vizag regions are protesting against Puri Jagannadh's upcoming film, Double iSmart, and discussions about a potential boycott are ongoing.

Asian Suniel is currently negotiating to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Producer Niranjan Reddy purchased the entire theatrical rights for Double iSmart at a high price, but he is now facing backlash in certain territories due to the losses incurred from Liger.

Both Puri Jagannadh and Charmee have remained silent regarding the controversy surrounding Liger. In the past, exhibitors even staged a protest outside the Film Chamber, but the issue was quickly resolved. Puri Jagannadh has not addressed the controversy since the release of Liger.

Double Ismart will compete directly with Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan, directed by Harish Shankar.
