Kaantha: Ego Clashes between Dulquer and Rana

Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, an arm of the 60-year-old Suresh Productions in collaboration with Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, marked the beginning of their most awaited multilingual film project “Kaantha” with a puja recently.

Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film stars Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashree, and Samuthirakani and the filming started recently. "Kaantha" explores the ego clashes between its two main characters, with Rana portraying a film actor and Dulquer playing an assistant director.

The narrative delves into the complexities of their professional relationship, highlighting the tensions that arise in the film industry. The film's premise echoes themes found in successful Malayalam films like "Driving License" and "Ayyappanum Koshiyum," which also tackled ego-related conflicts.

The film is slated for a theatrical release next year. Set in the evocative backdrop of 1950s Madras, "Kaantha" is a cinematic journey that explores the complexities of human relationships and societal change during a dynamic period in history.

Produced by Prashanth Potluri, Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, and Jom Varghese, Kaantha has cinematography handled by Dani Sanchez Lopez, while Jhanu provides the music. Ramalingam is the art director, Tamizh Prabha is the writer, and Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves is the editor.

More updates on the release date and the first look of "Kaantha” to follow soon. The movie will be released in all South Indian languages- Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada languages.
