In Utsavam, I play not just a love interest role: Regina Cassandra

Utsavam is a Telugu drama written and directed by Arjun Sai, featuring Dilip Prakash and Regina Cassandra in lead roles. Produced by Suresh Patil under Hornbill Pictures, the film also stars Prakash Raj, Nassar, Rajendra Prasad, and Brahmanandam in key roles. The film has already generated positive buzz with its teaser and trailer songs and is set for a grand release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on September 13, distributed by Mythri Movie Distributors. In a recent press conference, Regina Cassandra shared her thoughts about the film:

What elements impressed you in 'Utsavam'?

Director Arjun Sai presented a story with a lot of depth. It’s a rooted tale with all the commercial elements one would expect. The narrative has soul, and Sai's extensive research on the theater industry added authenticity. I was particularly drawn to the film’s balance of commercial appeal and meaningful content.

How is your character in this film?

In 'Utsavam,' I play the role of a corporate employee who is very independent and doesn't focus much on love. My character represents modern, independent women, and I found it refreshing to portray someone so relatable.

Did you participate in stage plays as a child?

Yes, I enjoyed stage plays during my school and college years. The film features many poignant scenes about stage actors that will resonate with the audience.

What do you think about Dilip Prakash?

Dilip is a hardworking and positive actor. His dedication to the film was evident, and working with him was a pleasure. I wish him continued success.

How do you feel about Mythri Movie Makers releasing this film?

It’s reat to see a prominent company like Mythri Movie Makers supporting Arjun Sai’s debut film on such a grand scale. It’s exciting that they’re backing such a significant project.

Do you have any short-term goals?

From my first film, SMS, I aspired to be a versatile actor. That goal has stayed with me, and I’ve been pursuing varied roles over the years. I aim to continue exploring different kinds of characters.

Can you tell us about your upcoming projects?

I am working on a film with Gopichand Malineni and Sunny Deol, and I have two more projects in Hindi, which have been announced by the makers.

Any final thoughts?

Thank you for your support.
