Businessman Story

At a time when Mumbai police announces that there are no Bhai’s in Mumbai and everyone can run business, Surya (Mahesh Babu) lands in the country’s commercial capital with an intention to become a don. He slowly gains momentum and in the process also traps Chitra (Kajal) who is police commissioner’s (Nazer) daughter. Surya then locks horns with big shots and his juggernaut continues to the point where the plot will be unveiled as to why did Mahesh Babu came to Mumbai with such an intention.

Analysis
Businessman is an action packed roller coaster ride and its Mahesh Babu’s show all the way. An ideal movie for Mahesh Babu to hit the screens as the superstar took over from where he left in Dookudu.  Typical Puri Jagannath’s one liner dialogues coupled with Mahesh Babu’s terrific action sequences hogs the limelight in Businessman. The film gives you glimpses of Pokiri  and other mafia based movies like RGV’s Satya but Puri managed to bring his own style of innovation.  He has handled it very sensibly ensuring that there are no duplication of thoughts. Given the fact that Businessman movie was just made in 72 days, boy the output is brilliant and hats off to Puri Jagannath and Mahesh for making the movie in such a short span of time.

Businessman is a perfect mass masala extravaganza which satisfies the undemanding viewers. Mahesh Babu has strong screen presence that works to the advantage of the film. Puri Jagannath is raw, creative and daringly different like he usually is. When such a dynamic director gets the authentic acting support from his superstar, you can expect fireworks on the screen and that’s what happens in Businessman. Mahesh Babu and Kajal give sterling performances to the shouts of 'action' and 'cut' of Puri Jagannath for Businessman movie. The result is that we have a massy entertainer in the face of stiff competition from other strategically released action movies this season.

TeluguOne Perspective
No doubt, Businessman movie is raw but Puri Jagannath’s treatment and Mahesh Babu’s character etching fascinate the movie. Mahesh revels in an author-backed role. His insouciance and cultivated elegance add to the polish of the character. He is decidedly first rate in the role of someone who is desperate for power.

Puri Jagannadh has got it right as a scriptwriter and has worked around the subject with dexterity. He has also got the feel of the movie right all through without too many deviations. Though there are elements that may put you off (too much melo drama and action), Puri Jagannadh surely knows the pulse of the audience and has balanced it well. And in Mahesh, he’s got an able ally. The screenplay, as you’d expect, is a wee bit like Pokiri where you’d see an action sequence, followed by a romantic episode. But Puri Jagannath’s dialogues are real asset to the movie where he makes Mahesh utter them with great authority.

Performances

Who else? Mahesh Babu comes up with a stunning performance. His dialogue delivery, bdoy language and the ease with which he utters them is simply fantastic.

Technicalities
Music is a huge asset for the movie. SS Thaman once again brings his skills to the fore for the superstar. ‘Saar Osthaara’ number is an instant sensation. Camera work by Syam K Naidu is stunning. His shot selection and camera angles were brilliant and he captured the best from Mahesh’s Babu’s close shots. Editing towards the second half should have been crisper but action mater Vijay needs to be commended for his great work.

Final Word
Businessman movie review: Businessman movie is a mass masala extravaganza and carnival for all those who relish seeing Mahesh Babu in a masala ride. Looks like the crazy combo of Puri and Mahesh has done it again!
