Bhool Bhulaiyaa, a remake of Manichitrathazhu, has become a franchise with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and the success of the film prompted for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 now. Kartik Aryan as Rooh Baba became the main connection behind the series. Vidya Balan returning as Manjulika and Madhuri Dixit adding to the mix as special appearance, all added to the hype and buzz of the film. Movie released on 1st November for Diwali and let's discuss about it in detail.

Plot:
Rooh Baba(Kartik Aryan) is hired by a Royal family descendant Meera(Triptii Dimri) to fake exorcism of a ghost, Manjulika from Rakht Ghat Palace. Meera is daughter of King Raja Saab(Vijay Raaz) who is in dire poverty.  They plan to use Rooh Baba as reincarnation of Prince Debendranath, during whose time Manjulika, his sister, was burnt alive.

With his help they plan to sell off the palace for Rs. 1000 crores. Mallika (Vidya Balan) enters into the palace as restorer and Mandira (Madhuri Dixit) as potential buyer.  But things keep going exponentially out of hand as they both enter the palace. Doubts keep growing about their presence. Who is Manjulika among them? Who is haunting the palace and why? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis:
Bhool Bhulaiyaa worked big time as it touched upon the science behind ghost haunting a place or a person. It tries to talk about how a Schizophrenic patient can believe in their delusions and develop multiple personality disorder. But Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 tried to make it a real ghost haunting story and it worked. So, the three also follows the same pattern.

But it doesn't go in the route of the second film. Rather it has some decent comedy and good plot to keep the proceedings engaging. Vidya Balan's presence and Madhuri Dixit's appearance have helped the movie to be some more unique. Their performance for Ami Jo Tomar song in classical attire definitely helped the film.

Still, all this is about packaging and desperately putting together a project with popular people. While it stays at that, the movie still manages to engage and make a point without dragging things out with over dosage of emotional scenes and holds simple twists that keeps us guessing.

Kartik Aryan as Rooh Baba is fine but as Prince Debendranath he got something unique to do and he did try his best. Triptii Dimri and others find simple moments to shine but the movie belongs to Kartik, Vidya and Madhuri. They all manage to keep us engaged in a movie that doesn't really come up with many new elements yet manages to entertain through the screen time.

Amaal Malik's Ami Jo Tomar 3.0, cinematography, decent VFX work, good production values and performances all make the movie watchable.

In Conclusion:
A decent follow up to Bhool Bhulaiyaa films and an entertainer.

Rating: 3/5
