Updated : Oct 19, 2024
Sivakarthikeyan has started his career as TV host and achieved immense popularity with his quick wit. As an actor too, he established himself as a box office hero with comic films. Now, he is slowly trying to prove his versatility with different films and Amaran is his big litmus test.
As an actor, can he carry a real-life Military person, Major Mukundan's character on screen with various shades, brilliantly or not would be the million dollar question as far as this film is concerned. He proved that he is a good in action and drama mixed roles in Maaveeran, Doctor. But Amaran is a big leap of faith for him.
Kamal Haasan producing the film entrusting him as the lead is a big plus to boost his confidence. On the other hand, he is being projected as next big star of Tamil Cinema as Vijay and Ajith are slowly moving into senior league. Also, both seem to be drifting into next chapters of their lives with movies only, not being their priority.
Vijay is looking at politics and Ajith is taking on racing career once again. But both of them played a key role in passing the baton to Sivakarthikeyan. One did it literally and another verbally. Sivakarthikeyan at Amaran pre-release audio event in Malaysia, talked about the incident when Ajith comforted him after a super flop.
The actor's Prince failed at the box office and many started making comments that Sivakarthikeyan has reached his peak and he is about to see a major fall. In such a depressive condition, Siva attended a Diwali party with a friend, and the first one to greet him opening the door is Ajith.
AK welcomed him by saying, "Welcome to the big league." He continued to say to a confused Siva that when people start feeling insecure looking at your growth, then you're in big league. Well, many know how Vijay in his recent film, THE GOAT, handed over "Thuppakki - his gun" to Siva and asked to take care of it.
Seems like Sivakarthikeyan has become the favorite of both current ruling stars of Tamil Cinema to bet on as the next big thing. Let's see how he would reciprocate their trust in him with Amaran. GV Prakash Kumar's score for the film is already a major hit. On top of all that, Sai Pallavi as female lead has created waves and good anticipation for the film with her centric teaser.
