Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi has been one of the most awaited releases of Tamil Cinema in 2024. The movie had to clash with two other films - Bloody Beggar and Brother. Bloody Beggar had Kavin as leading man while Brother stars Jayam Ravi, Bhoomika Chawla and Priyanka Mohan. 

Nelson produced Bloody Beggar and M. Rajesh, the director of films like Boss Engira Baskaran, OK OK, Siva Manasula Shakti, directed the film Brother. But Amaran overpowered easily both of them. Brother did not have any hype or buzz prior to release and Blood Beggar did not have a viral campaign. 

Both the films failed it promoting their films aggressively against a huge film like Amaran. At the same time, both did not get huge push with blockbuster single or album. Amaran took career best opening for Sivakarthikeyan with Rs.43 crores gross worldwide. The actor is hoping for the momentum to continue further. 

Bloody Beggar has a divided word of mouth and several critics called it as "vibe movie" and it won't be liked by everyone. On the other hand, Brother seems like a washout at the box office. Let's see how Amaran will trend post Diwali weekend.
