Charmee in the role of Pinky Without A Tail and Penki Pilla has done full justice to her role but her character is uninteresting. Prema as Charmee's mother doesn't like look a mom to a 18 year old girl. Nor does the director take any effort to show difference to young Prema and when she turns mother. Allari Naresh plays a journalist who rides on bicycle with a camera on his shoulder and takes photographs. His character is enough to show how old-fashioned the film is. Kota is the only saving grace. Music by Vidyasagar is nothing to rave about. Photography by KRK Raju is neat, though. A shot where decreasing of shadow to depict the time passed till the dusk is quite interesting.
Analysis :
The story and screenplay played spoilsport all through the film. Its is big question how Bapu had accepted the story. There is no logic in the scenne when Charmi makes her entry into the family of the zamindar. When it is such a rich and big family, how was she able to move in and out of the bungalow at her will. Moreover, the villain too in the same house and there is no one to watching her movements. The writer tried to play a satire on the contemporary politics, which has nothing to do with the actual storyline. He should have chosen some other way to run the story.
TeluguOne Perspective :
The writer tried to modernise the original 'Sundarakanda' in Ramayana. The role played by Lord Hanuman in uniting Rama and Sita, was rewritten in such a way that a girl took the responsibility in uniting her parents who were separated. In Sundarakanda, Lord Hanuman teaches a lesson to Ravana in his bid to unite the Rama and Sita. This was equated with teaching a lesson to a political opponent of the heroine's father. This is where the writer fumbled and could not correlate the story well. As a whole, despite the fantastic directorial capability of Bapu, the film failed to satiate the urge of the Telugu film lovers, who go to the film with high expectations.
