The story begins in a village Jangaon in 1985. Late in the night, a pregnant woman (Rajitha) who is about to deliver, comes to Durga temple in that village accompanied by her husband. There she gives birth to a cute baby. The baby is born in 'Moola' nakshathram and temple priest ( Subbaraya Sharma) gives her the name "Panchakshari".Right from the birth of Panchakshari (Anushka), the villagers treat her as an incarnation of Goddess Durga. During the 'Bonalu' festival Panchakshari goes into trance (as if Goddess comes on to her body) and foretells what is going to happen in future to the villagers. Later Panchakshari gets married and also begets a daughter. An archaeologist tells the villain (Pradeep Rawath) in that village that there is a hidden treasure worth crores of rupees in that village temple. And to get hold of that treasure, Panchakshari has to be eliminated during 'Bonalu'. What the villain did to Panchakshari and what happens to her... forms the rest of the story.
Analysis :
The movie starts with background voice (Voice over by Mohan Babu)"Anantha vishwam lo enno vinthalu...". Director has tried his best to make this flick look like movies in the past "Ammoru" and "Arundhathi", but it couldn't reach them. Its first half moves at a snail's pace and second half runs in the flashback. Story-weaving is a bit confusing and narration being not up to the mark, is a minus point for this film. The sequence where Panchakshari (Anushka) is busy performing pujas in Jangaon and at the time Honey (Anushka) performing recording dances in Secunderabad Bonalu festival seems to be irrelevant. One can not understand what the director wants to convey to the audience by showing this sequence.Another episode in which Honey's father (Nassar) asks his family members on every Sunday while having their breakfast to confess if they have done anything wrong in that week, is also very dragging and boring. Giving more screen time to Honey's friends also became a hindrance to the tempo of the movie. bramhanandam's Magadheera parody too fails to impress and mars the interest of the audience. If the negative points are to be counted, so many other scenes also can be included in this list. The climax.. where villain threatens with killing the villagers 'en masse', the villagers never bother to think about retaliating or rather seems like they are looking forward... when would the villain will kill them. In the ending the scenes in which villain kicking off the turmeric paste brought by the married women in the village, and Goddess sprouting out of that paste.... then entering Panchakshari's 'Athma' and dancing for some time before killing both the villains... Panchakshari's 'Athma' later turning into a star..... are very ridiculous.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Action-: Anushka performed very well both as Panchakshari and Honey. She did justice to both of her characters. To be frank, no one else other than Anushka was successful in holding interest of the audience. It can be said that Anushka carried the entire movie on her shoulders. Music-: In some places its Re-recording is impressive. Dialogues-: Nowhere reach the expectations. Choreography-: Not impressive. Action-: Average. Graphics-: Satisfactory. Art-: This is the only department which has done a nice job. This movie may be liked by people who believe in whatever they are told and particularly those who are superstitious to the core. If anyone wants to watch this movie for Anushka's performance, can do so.
